I think this song is about Jesse saying good bye to someone, most likely a girl, forever. He's saying good bye and he's moving on with his life.

I think this song could have many meanings, like most of their songs. all their songs use a lot of vague imagery, and are very beautifully written. What i think about this is that the speaker needs to move on with his life, and in life he cannot be with the person he is walking away from, it could be a good friend, or a girlfriend. "May we meet again in another life", this is probably the saddest line in the song, the idea that the two will never meet again in this life. the other meaning i hear is about a death of a family or friend. "The rivers in your eyes couldnt change my mind", after death one needs to move on to the next life, and nothing can keep them here in this life. "May we meet again in another life", thats a dead giveaway for this interpretation, one day the two will meet again but not in this life.

Obviously this song is about saying goodbye to someone. Possibly someone with a stronger love for drugs than for you. That seems to be a common topic for this group.
