I could be totally off, but I think that this song is about an underage guy taking out an older girl. The girl does not know how old the guy is. The song tells their tale.

"Pass me another bottle, honey,
The Jager's so sweet,
But if it keeps you around, then I'm down."
The couple is drinking. The guy isn't used to the taste, but he wants to keep the girl around, so he does it anyway.

The chorus is about them going to various places together.

"I'll take you out though I'm hardly worth your time."
The girl is wasting her time dating this younger guy, but doesn't know it yet.

"Fall in the grave I've been digging myself,
But there's room for two,
Six feet under the stars."
This means, "So I might die (of embarrassment?) for this. After all, I got myself into it. But we'll always be together."
It's a possibility that the line "Six Feet Under the Stars" means "In the grave" or "When we're together". Not sure.

"I'm always in over my head."
Self-explanitory.

"Over-dressed and underage,
Do you really need to see an ID?
This is embarrassing as hell
But I can cover for it so well
When we're six feet under the stars."
This is my favorite part of the song, and the main supporting detail of my interpretation. This part means that the couple is at some bar or club and the guy is asked to show his ID. The girl finds out he lied to her, and the guy is really embarrassed.

So yep. That's my interp. :D

Hey you're interpretation was actually correct Anon, This song is the sequel to the song Coffee Shop Soundtrack, which is about Alex's relationship with an older married woman who was 25 at the time. This song is about a meeting they had after they had ended their relationship, and how it really didn't go well for him. Thames and South Broadway are both streets in Baltimore Maryland where there are several bars, restaurants and shops. It's a little area on the harbor that looks like a cute place to go on a date.

I kinda always thought that six feet under the stars is a metaphor for being high. I don't know if any of you mentioned that...
