Alrighty. obviously most of you missed the part where not everything is completely literal. yes, it's about making mistakes and wondering if "she" will still love him after all of his mistakes, but the vampire references are probably purely metaphorical in the sense that vampires feed of other things and are creatures of DARKNESS...an innate fear of being alone and misunderstood and not accepted for the darker side of his nature.
but what do I know?

You guys are both right. It is about becoming a vampire, but it is also about if his 'girl' will still love him when she finds out what he has become and the things he has done.
"will you still hold me when you see what I have done. Will you still kiss me the same, when you taste my victims blood"

I see a few different meanings in this song
One of the main ones is the singer is wondering if this girl, probably a girlfriend will still like him if she finds out what he has done in the past, he has made mistakes and is wondering if she will still like him the same if he told her.
"will you still hold me when you see what I have done, will you still kiss me the same"
another meaning could be something to do with vampires hence the anne rice novel coz she is a author that writes mostly of vampires

yeah, this song is about turning into a vampire. or I think it might be about a guy keeping a secret from a girl, about turning into a vampire.

I heard alex before a show claim it was about growing up. But you two near the top are right, him becoming a vampire and hoping his girlfriend will still love him after he, like, goes and kills people. lol

it is about being a vampire, but that is primarily just a metaphor for things he has done wrong

Before a show, Alex claimed that this song was written because he fucked up, then fixed it, then fucked up again, and the cycle just continued. He claimed that the only way to learn is to keep fucking up. I agree with everyone about the vampires being a dark metaphor and the cheating, but I'll go with the author's interpretation :p lol

It's about cheating while being drunk or as he describes it becoming a vampire. He can't/couldn't control himself "I feel it welling up inside".

Okay,
so most of you have it down pretty good.
"The Crimson"
Anne Rice's Vampire Cronicles [i'm an anne rice novel come to life]
this song is in my opinion,
In Louis point of view.
In the novel, and the movie,
he talks about how he
"viewed the sun for the last time"
then set out to "Become what I became"
then this part of the song
"will you still hold me
when you see what I have done?
will you still kiss me the same
when you taste my victims blood?
so crimson and red
i feel it flowing fromm your lips
crimson and red
My heart is dead and so are you"
In my opinion is about louis, and Claudia
She is his daughter, and his beloved.
In this movie Louis Is a vampire with a human soul.
something extreamly rare. The Claudia is born into darkness, He loved her with every beat of his imortal heart. Claudia then later finds out that louis feed on him, and Lestat bore her into darkness.she gets upset. and that's what its talking about. Later in the novel, and movie claudia dies. and louis is once again on his own.
Then this part:
"and it pulses through, the desire to change
to deconstruct all of my past failings
but where to begin
because when you live is sin
its hard to look at the saints
without them reflecting their jet black auras back on you
and all I have is hope
my inner burn's not fading
ill wipe the blood from my cheek and get on with my day"
this is talking about louis, yet again.
and how he would rather spare human life.
yet he only feels peace when he kills,
and He can feel the Blood of the one he kills
pulsing through his viens.
This part-
"And all I have is hope
And all I need is time
To bury in pine under six feet of time
The lies I told me about myself.
Claw my way out,
Pick the splinters from under my fingernails.
I won’t lose hope,
I won’t give in.
Just live and breathe, try not to die again.
Just live and breathe, try not to die again.
Just live and breathe, try not to die again.
I try not to die again."
Louis is on his own.
he travels back to new orleans,
and then mets up with Lestat.
Ends up leaving,
and wandering the streets.
He is just trying to live, and go through each day.
ahh blah blah blah.
thats my opinion, so don't tell me I'm wrong.
kthnks.

I agree with all of you, it's about the girl his in love with will still like him when she finds out what he was done, Also about him becoming a vampire and wants to hide that so she won't find out.
If you could make a music video for this song, Which we all know that they didn't put a story behind it, what would your story be about??? how would you start off your video???

The lyrics of this song are a fine example of a test of loyalty. It signifies for me how you are not perfect and will your lover still be with you in spite of these imperfections. This song has a personal depth in the way we can all relate to the lyrics.

Well it's clearly about vampires you don't have to know that Anne Rice writes vampire novels to figure that out "I viewed the sun for the last time" "when you taste my victims blood" what could that possibly be about other then vampires?

It's pretty obvious that the crimson is a symbolism song, it is about an imperfect person comparing himself to a vampire and asking if this special person (probably a girlfriend) will accept that the past is the past, some things have happened, but he wants to change and get help with it "And it pulses through, the desire to change
The desire to deconstruct all of my past failings
But where to begin because when you live in sin
It's hard to look at saints without them
Reflecting you're jet black auras back on you
And all I have is hope, my inner burns not fading
I'll wipe the blood from my cheek and get on with my day"

I personally think this song is about vampiric immortality, Alex has been known to be a fan of Anne Rice novels, who is a vampire novelist. This song is also about talking about things in your life you made mistakes on and that you regret.

Ok, no offence to any of you, but I think that the first couple of you are wrong.
The song was based on the book (and movie) interview with the vampire. It is not about becoming a vampire! in the song a couple quotes were borrowed from them (i.e. "to become what I became," "I viewed the sun for the last time.") and though the song does resemble the stuff that happens in the book, it wasn't ment to be seen that way.
Alex Varkatzas made this song because he thought that the book/movie resembled the last few years in his life. Alex used to be an alcoholic before he made this song, and he regrets that. on that note, song is basically about doing a lot of things in your life that you regret doing.

It's about a guy who cheated on his girlfriend when he was drunk, "will you still kiss me the same when you taste my victims blood" which is the other girl he had the affair with. Its kind of a metaphor.
Then I don't think she forgives him because he says "my heart is dead, and so are you" so maybe he gets pissed because she doesn't forgive him.

It is about him becoming a vampire it says One starts to change into something the mirror doesn't recognize and vampires do not have reflections in mirrors.

Well, the meaning is kind of obvious here.
1. He's actually a vampire.
2. He doesn't really want to be a vampire. (I can't hide the monster anymore; My desire to change to deconstruct.)
3. He wonders if his loved one will still love him in return if she finds out. (Will you still hold me when you see what I have done?)
The lyrics are literal, sort of. So, that's it.
