I think you mean keep holding on. It's kinda saying, she'll comfort the 'you'. "cause you know I'm here for you" that they will get through whatever comes at them in life"Cause you know we'll make it through". That together they are stronger than apart m"with you by my side I will fight and defend". To keep holding on to that hope that it will all turn out for the best. "keep holding on"

As a small note: This song is NOT talking about romantic love between a boy and girl. This song is actually talking about friendship. This song says that no matter what happens will make it through together and I'll be here to help you. And of course, don't give up (Keep holding on).
