Song Released: 1964

Eight Days a Week Lyrics

Oh, I need your love babe, guess you know it's true
Hope you need my love babe just like I need you
Hold me, love me
Hold me, love me
Ain't got nothing but love, babe
Eight days a week

Love you every day girl, always on my mind
One thing...

In 1964 the Beatles had some hits on the charts, but there was a brief envelope of time when they were able to walk around the (un-touristed) neighborhoods in comparative anonymity...they enjoyed taking the [London]
tube train to some remote stations to do so.
Once in the neighborhood of Cockfosters',John and Paul noticed a sign in a shop window which was very rare for that place and time:it read,
"Open Seven Days A Week".They decided to write a song about it; John suggested, "Let's call the song 'I'll Love You Seven Days A Week'...yeh!...Paul said, "Wait a minute! Why don't we write,'I Love You EIGHT Days Week'...That's never been done, nobody could copy it,and it will be a #1 hit!"(which of course it was)
...to which John replied,"You've topped me again...you fucker!"

it means that you love your woman and 7 days a week is not enough. Hence the lyrics "eight days a week is not enough to show i care"

I think that they lobe some girl so much that she can't believe them so they are telling her that she is always on their mind. They are thinking too much about her, almost the whole week and there's only 7 days a week so they are thinking about her so much like there's 8 days a week...
    Wonderful song!!!
