Beatles: I Me Mine Meaning
Song Released: 1970
I Me Mine Lyrics
I me mine, I me mine
All through the night, I me mine
I me mine, I me mine
Now they're frightened of leaving it
Everyone's weaving it
Coming on strong all the time
All through the day I me...

I think it means that everyone's just thinking of theirselves and wants what best for themselves and don't care about anybody else. It kind of goes back to the money thing about people being greedy. But it is a total kickass song no matter what it's about

I believe this song has to do with the money profit that people received throughout The Beatles' success. Paul felt that everyone else he was working with (other than the 3 other musicians) were trying to take their money that they had earned. Everyone thought they deserved a big piece of the prize. By singing "I Me Mine" they are basically mocking the peoples attitudes towards their pay (My money, mine, I deserve more money).

I think he's right. That's the universal experience of one who has a transcendental experience like those partake of psychoactive substances as the beatles did. The ego gets really shaken up. Early man was not some savage but because of the ingestion of certain plant life which was a ceremonial sacrament like acacia of the middle east or a creeping vine in the amazon understood the ego better than we. None of which are what we today would consider a recreational drug. In fact some say it's like being torn apart. I think this be-in movement was a direct result of this revelation but it wasn't good for business so they pored cocaine into the streets' just like coka cola, to make us more productive. And it worked. Look what happened in the 70's and 80's. An economic boom. The coke puts you on top of the world and the ego, that would be subdued under the influence of psychedelics, is fed and becomes inflated. The right amount of ego is essential for a person to have enough ambition to be successful enough to take care of himself and his family but the moment it gets in the way there will be problems in that family. The indigenous man understood this.Without such plants and substances there was always the coming of age initiation. A 24 hour trek into the wilderness with no food will do. This is the vision quest. Something we don't do in our society and until experienced cannot understand. It's like gnosis. It's not just knowledge. It's about the sensation.

Actually, this song is about relinquishing his ego in order to attain enlightment. it's what you want, what's yours that prevents us from being absorbed into the universal consciousness where there is no ego or duality. George once said : It's when you're turning the little i in big I that you are really smiling !

Harrison was sick and tired of Lennon and McCartney not letting him have enough songs on the album.
In The let it be movie John and Yoko Dance to the song so John wouldn't have to play it.
