   Although I am completely aware of what this song is truly written about and it's place in the Amory Wars, a friend of a friend had made a convincing argument that the song is about Columbine.
   
   The lyrics scarily actually fit with the Columbine situation obviously since it basically occurs in the middle of a firefight between Claudio and Al the Killer against The House Atlantic, so I shall leave this here as an interpretation...

   On their way to House Atlantic, Claudio, Jesse, and Ambellina use Al the Killer's star ship, The Camper Velorium, as transportation to destroy the House Atlantic and Wilhelm Ryan. Al foils their plan and hands them over to Ryan, after Ambellina rejects his love for her. Al returns, because of his love for Ambellina and gives them a chance to escape by covering them with fire from his sniper rifle ("Good eye, sniper. Here I'll shoot, you run"). When they're making their escape, Al says his farewell,"Bye bye beautiful. Don't bother to write. Disturbed by your words and they're calling all cars." leaving the impression that he knows he's going to die and he's still hurt by her rejection.

   This song is about a one night stand. (Bye Bye Beautiful, don't bother to write) shows he doesn't want to continue a relationship. But it is clearly about a one night stand (Retrack the footsteps that brought us to this favor, I wouldn't ask this of you)
