The song's not specifically about George Bush, it's about people like him. It's meant to be cryptic and ambiguous. It's about attributing God-like qualities to politicians and public figures. That's why in the beginning you hear that sample from Bush's 9/11 speech. It's the perfect example of someone who was attributed God-like power, and deified. Whether it's Bush, the Pope, Ted Turner, or anybody else like that, it just warns of the danger of that sort of behavior, treating a human being like a God.

Yes and no, not all anti Bush. It relates to when Dubya was assigned god like powers in the wake of 9/11 and the dangers of associating that kind of control to a mortal man

Well, of course it relates to Bush, or there wouldn't be a speech excerpt in the beginning from him. David said that even though this song wasn't specifically about Bush, it's about people LIKE him, who are exalted or "deified" as being Gods by some people, when they're really just humans. Be it Bush, the Pope, Ted Turner, whoever.

I agree totally with the fact it's about people like him but the whole fucking world doesn't revolve around america....

Personally I thought it was about Hitler... but I may be wrong

It's about a powerful figure who is raised above all others. I guess I'm echoing the highest rated person, but I wanted to include Barack Obama in the list of highly elevated politicians. Much more so than George Bush.

I also agree with the top rated. It's not specifically about Bush. They probably could have found a million other bits of speeches that say the same thing, but Bush is widely disliked so it was probably most usable and likely to attract.
