According to David, the song "Speaks about Disturbed's uphill battle to be a metal band in a city, and a world that does not necessarily want one."

Definitely, this is from David's point of a view.

See, he's lashing out and getting revenge on someone who never encouraged him, always told him his expectations were unrealistic, someone who told him he was never good enough to be what he is now:
"You said it was the kinda battle that just couldn't be won"
and thought he was too mentally disabled to be a rational metal star:
"You're too sick/too hard/too fucked in the head"

And that's the basis of this song, although it has great meaning, if you look on iTunes, you'll find it was Disturbed's least popular song of all time.
