Disturbed: Indestructible Meaning
Song Released: 2008
Indestructible Lyrics
Another time to carry the colors again
My motivation, an oath I've sworn to defend
To win the honor of coming back home again
No explanation will matter after we begin
Unlock the dark...

There are some people that have the innate ability to thrive in combat. They spend years honing their talents and become natural instruments of warfare. People like this are actually quite rare, but have exsisted in every society throughout history. Through thier song "Indestructible", Disturbed has captured the emotional power of this rare breed in the heat of battle. The warrior almost ceases to be human and is instead transformed into a destructive force of nature; destroying everyone and everything in thier path. "Indestructible" is about a state of mind some people have that transends any fear of injury or death in war.

Indestructible is about how he battled and won against the demons trying to convince him to kill himself to see his girlfriend again.(listen to inside the fire it's about what they said) this song is about how he triumphed "I am indestructible" means the demons couldn't destroy/corrupt his mind so he is indestructible. Also, "the powers have called me away" means the demons called him out. "Come back home again" means to come back out of depression after she died.

Absolutey a warrior's song. If anyone ever needs the will to keep fighting, they should pull this song up. I'm in the martial arts, specifically tae kwon do, and I will be a black belt soon. I think that this song describes very aptly the inflexibility of martial warriors throughout history, and the martial arts is the best way to denote that toughness.

I thought it was about the way people can't be killed in war. Although that is only true for some people. And from I've read about David Draiman he was in the military and I think the song is about himself. being indestructible may not only mean war with guns and crap. But also a war with yourself, friends, family, and anyone else. Something that causes strife among people could also be a war. And the ability to stand there and be uneffected would be proof of being indestructible. it doesn't matter who you are it could be anybody. I mean anyone could fall to it. thats what i think.
And hey if any members of disturbed reads this you guys are one the best bands ever to me right up there with ozzy. -

It seems like its someone he is calling out to to be awoken by his music, like some kind of prophecy. He mentions it throughout a lot of his songs, its almost like a puzzle. And he may believe it is himself, considering all his talk of being insane, and potentially homicidal. But then it could be a metaphor. All I know is that I have multiple mental disorders that I study and may be related to his if he really has any. And that most of his lyrics are exactly the same as my opinions, emotions, and thoughts. Including this "Dark Destroyer" that I used to day dream that I turned into to consciously escape reality as a small child. But I probably don't know what Im talking about, being only 16 years old. And its just an idea, nothing to be taken seriously. Its just weird seeing A character on the cover of these albums, and described in these songs identical to the one that I created all those years ago but never spoke a word of until now.

This song is about glorifying killing and destruction in warfare, making people feel indestructible so they can commit atrocities. It's a lie that helps the unfortunates who have found themselves to be the warriors to do the bidding of the powers that be and manifest the corruption of the elite's agenda of domination and acquisition.

What the song really means or rather who they are talking about are the Special operations guys (i.e. Green Berets, Navy Seals, Force Recon, Pararescue and mostly the Delta force.) If you know any of these guys or know anything about them these guys are true masters of war and leave destruction in thier wake. As well as the other parts of the military I am in no way taking from the other men and women of the armed forces by no means because I am one of those guys. research the Special operations and what they have done through out the past wars and you will see what I am talking about they are tough, determained forces to not be taken lightly. God Speed to all the warriors in the US armed forces.

in so many words, it's the true creed of a warrior, what he is fighting for, protecting and what he feels in his heart.

As many of you have said, it is a song for the men and women in the United States Armed Forces. This song can best be described as a "battle cry." Soldiers have written to the band saying how much of a motivator their music was to them when preparing for battle. David wrote the song for them. If you will notice in the video, every clip shows a warrior going into battle. In my opinion, "Indestructible" is a mindset meant to help the troops conquer fear and to help motivate them to defend our country.....

My friend and I always believed that the song was about men and woman being called away to fight, so in a sense they are fighting for their chance to come home...Servey says....United States Armed Forces, This song is for the Armed Forces in the sense that the soldiers are fighting for a home to ocme home to.

This song is talking about how war separates men from their families. The line "to win the honor of coming back home again" gives this away. It is saying that certain people want to come home so badly that they make sure they don't die, almost. These people were considered "indestructible" because they tried so hard to see their families again. The song was meant to honor these people even the ones that died: "a war your unable to win" This line suggests that some battles might have been lost without these heroes.

The song's meaning is two fold. It is about making troops feel indestructible as they go into battle, and showing people that through the years, Disturbed is still here, and only getting better.

I think the guy above is right but I thought it was also added to that a tribute to the troops in the Army b/c some of them listen to their music to get their heart pumping.
