I think it's about a guy who falls in love with a girl and they become extremely close and intimate

anyways too much of him changes and he is unsettled about what his life is turning into (with her)

The first verse I think is about how he is realizing he's losing himself in her and the life that is with her... and can he make a change of conscious decision... Is he strong enough to whether this part of his life or will it destroy him? He wants a new way to look at his life and feel differently.

he lies to himself, deceives himself and everyone around him about her b/c he doesn't want to believe who she's become and what she's doing to him

"... I am the deceiver
Now I lie to myself, so I can believe her"

she changes him and everything important to him

"As she dissasembles my life"

He is so confused he sometimes can't tell reality from what he thinks is real anymore (she has really f*cked with his mind)

"I cannot dispel the illusion
All my hopes and dreams are drowned by confusion"

and he wonders can he moveon and life his life w.o her?

but deep down inside him he knows the TRUTH about all that is happening.... His memories don't lie

"Memories don't lie"

its just when will he realize reality and accept it and who she has changed into

"You know better than..."

and then he begs to an almost 3rd party objective close friend to believe him that his eyes, ears, decieve him.... who bought into her lies and deception too much

he knows that this part of his life.. must die because it is destroying him from the inside out

"This is the end
Pain Redefined"

the also horrible pain she has inflicted on him... will not go away soon

About how sometimes when your sensory abilities become overwhelmed, you start losing sense (of taste, smell, sight) and you can't trust your senses anymore to judge the world around you.

I personally believe it is about self harm. The first verse

Fading, falling, lost in forever
Will I find a way to keep it together?
Am I strong enough to last through the weather in the hurricane of my life?

is him not knowing how to cope with his troubles, but the thought of self harm pops into his head in the second verse

Can it be a conscious decision?
That I look for ways to alter my vision?
Am I speeding towards another collision in the alleyways of my life?

He ends up doing it, but feels guilty and denies it

Memories don't lie
you know better than
those who have fallen in

He doesn't want to be one who has fallen in, or self harmed, he believes he is better than that, but he cannot lie to himself

This could be about anything... Actually, you've gone through something bad, trying to show people who you can really be, but they've dragged you down. You got out, but now it's happening again!

Have you ever been in love with someone to the point in which you lose all rational thought and it seems as if your persona is deteriorating? I personally believe that this song reflects the indescribable torment that one goes through in order to alter himself for the person that he/she believes is thier perfect partner. Clearly the pain and suffering woven into the lyrics suggests that the object of infatuation is having an adverse affect on him/her, and from personal experience I feel I can relate to the metaphysical agony that stems from heartbreak and seems to redefine all preconceived notions pain.
The beautiful thing about this song, in my opinion, comes at the point in which David seems at his lowest;
'Don't stand me up just leave me'
And subsequently receives that emotional and inspirational boost that seems to come from nowhere, in which you think 'Hang on, I'm better than this, I can get through this'. This is depicted in the most powerful part of the song in which he proclaims;
'I'll stand and fight, I'm not afraid to die'
I find this immensely motivational, it just makes you feel like no matter what that person has put you through, and although you feel like you've been rejected by the one person you would do anything for, you can still rise from your state of utter despair and fight to regain your persona and move on with your life. It's just nice to know someone else has gotten through such a low point in thier lives, because it makes you know that you can do it too, if you 'stand and fight' your negativity and angst.
Obviously one cannot draw a definite interpretation from a song based on what the artist has encoded in his message, as each individual will decode it relatively in accordance to their own experiences, but that is what makes interpretation so unique and special (which is why I disagree with 'hiding' interpretations considered too 'poor' to be displayed.
Either way, what a song!!

I found this song to be almost like a prayer. In the song he mentions how he's falling and trying to "ind a way to keep it together." Knowing better than those who have fallen are previous examples, people David may know or know of. Towards the end of the song he shouts "Elochai" which is Hebrew for My God, bury me tonight, and the chorous goes into how the world decieves him, and he's fallen again.

Honestly I think this song is about a love/hate relationship as he is used again and again by the girl he is obsessed with (this is the end pain redefined) it gets worse every time but he cannot walk away. Pretty typical disturbed song that's why they are a kickass band. Plus there is that one line.....as she disassembles my life. Im pretty sure that's about a woman.
