   Ed meets "a local girl" and the whole situation starts off as a one night stand but i guess she's someone he already knows based off the line "no make-up cuz she knows me well" so maybe they've discussed that when they get high or there's a party, they'll be each other's hook up. and Ed being a struggling musician is in need of money and food but doesnt want to seem like a parasite or a free-loader to her so he tells her he loves her so she'll give hime what he needs... or maybe he does indeed love her :)
