Ed Sheeran: The A Team Meaning
Song Released: 2011
The A Team Lyrics
Breathing in snowflakes
Burnt lungs, sour taste
Light's gone, day's end
Struggling to pay rent
Long nights, strange men
And they say
She's in the Class A Team
Stuck in her daydream
Been this way since 18
But...

The song is about drug additction..."white lips, pale face, breathing in snow flakes" shes homeless in the cold because of her addiction. "Burnt lungs sour taste" describes the feel when she smokes the drugs. "Shes in the class A Team" means shes at the top when it comes to drugs..."stuck in her day dream" shes stuck in a daydream that drugs rule her. "But lately her face seems slowly sinking, wasting crumbling like pastries" describes her appearance as unhealthy and 'crumbling'/decreasing. "The worst things in life come free to us" means you don't always go out looking for trouble, sometimes trouble finds us, hence it being "free" and it can really mess with us. The rest of the chorus talks about how we're just under the upper hand (rich) so we all go mad for a couple of drugs because in some way she wants to be like them. Then she flies to the motherland with her pipe of drugs and sells her love to other men to feed her addiction. She hopes for a better life...she doesn't want to go outside tonight becaue she really does want to stay inside securly with someone to love, but she is very lonely. In the video clip you can see how her addiction takes over her because she cries when she sleeps with the men...It's a very sad song and shows the truth in plain black and white of how your life can turn out when you get into these kind of things. Hope that helped :)

The A Team in short, is about a girl who uses drugs. Being in the Class A Team means being on drugs and apparently she's been that way since she was 18 years old but it is starting to get worse. Unfortunately, she has resorted to having 'love' with other men to make money to pay for her drug habit. I believe that when the lyrics say "It's too cold outside for angels to fly," refers to how there is too much evil/cold in the world for a good person like her (an angel) to fly/get out of her bad situation. So predictably, she dies as there's only so long you can be on such a bad habit before, well, meeting the end of your time. I hope this helped.

If you look up the song Little Lady feat. Mikill Pane, it describes the real reason.~~
This song is about a 18 year old girl, who is addicted to heroine. ("Shes in the class A Team" is a type of drug under the main classification of heroine.) She needs to have sex with random men to feed her addiction. ("Sells love to another man" and that line is kinda self explanatory.) She doesn't have a home, because all her money goes to drugs and the little food her body allows her to eat. ("white lips, pale face. Breathing in the snowflakes. It's too cold for angels to fly" Meaning she is out in the snow, and she close to verge of death.)She is trying, but not succeeding, in getting a new life. ("Ripped gloves, rain coat, try to swim and stay afloat." Means she is trying, but failing to become sober.) The young girl is a good person, but life it hard and bad. ("The worst things in life come free to us." She is a nice person, but probably leaving home or a death to her parents hurt her too much. ~my own interpolation there~ and she turned to drugs to numb the pain.)
I know that the song "Little Lady" describes a friend of hers whom she met on the street and gives more description in their lives. -

A good, sad song about a girl named Angel who is ddicted to heroin. In the song she does anything she has to to fuel her addiction "long nights, strange men". At the end of the song she dies because of her excessive use of the drug.

The song is about a prostitute with a drug addiction -cocaine. In the UK cocaine(or snowflakes) is a class A drug- the best / most addictive / most illegal you could get. 'Flies to the motherland, & sells lo e to another man' she gets high on cocaine then sells herself to a man for money for more drugs.
He wrote this song after volunteering at a homeless shelter with some of his mates. He learned this girls story, then turned it into an amazingly brilliant song.<3 -

I think "The A Team" is a real life story about a girl who could have done something with her life and she just didn't have the will. this song is not just about a stupid prostitute it is saying how she tried to do something about it but she was to late. it goes to say that you shouldn't and you don't have to throw your life away if your depressed and no I'm not saying you should go kill yourself you are perfect and you could be the next big scientist and discover the cure to the most deadly disease and save millions of life but instead you took yours. trust me you are amazing.

Obviously, as others before me have stated, it's about a drug addict, willing to give anything for her drugs. But I think this story has a deeper meaning. I think "it's too cold outside for angels to fly" means, one, I think "the end" of life, of a bad experience, ends in warmth, not coldness. And the angel part is about angels carrying someone to heaven after death, or just helping you after a bad experience. In the end when he says "it's too cold outside for angels to die" I think that shows, it isn't the end if it's still "raining", and that if something doesn't turn out with a good ending, it didn't end yet. So basically in a shell, I think it just is saying how to never give up, and everything gets better:)

I know exactly what this is about considering I was a Meth addict. White lips pale face breathing In snow flakes? Come on people. Don't post on here if you really don't know what it means. SHE'S SMOKING METH YOU DUMBFUCKS. And I''m sure that that's the meaning, knowing from experience.

This song is about a woman who has had an uphill battle against her addiction to cocaine. She sells sex to fund her addiction, despite the depravity making her crave more coke. She runs into a man, (the one whose perspective the song is from) who has heard her story. He offers a place to stay but she refuses, claiming all he wants is money. The woman ends up committing suicide, her note saying in shaky, scrawled letters, "It's too cold outside.. Always so cold...."

This song is about a girl who is forced to sell herself as a prostitute to make money for drugs. She wasn't always this way though, she used to be an "angel" daydreaming that she could change the world for the better but the world doesn't accept such good people. But because the world doesn't accept such people they need these people to get it back on track. Even though she conformed partially to this evil world, she still holds a slowly dying hope that the world will change and save her from the life that she is stuck in now.

Well, I knew a girl that was addicted to meth. I think thats what this song is about as well. "Breathing in snow flakes" is reffering to the meth rocks that look like crystals or snowflakes. The girl I knew used to sell herself to get money for drugs. She would sleep with multiple men in a few hours just to get high. "Go mad for a couple grams" is referring to the measurement. Dealers weight their drugs in grams and ounces. Now, id go mad for a couple grams of weed, but its obvious this song is talking about meth. The way he describes her eyes and face and the fact she gave up in life.

I've read a couple dozen interpretations and the people who refer to the girl as a prostitute or a whore have missed part of the point. Just because she's forced by addiction to sell her body doesn't make her a prostitute. Women get married for money and security every day in a nice church surrounded by family. Many do this for the money and end up having to have sex with a man that disgusts them. Are they prostitutes ?
This young girl can be described as many other things . She is a daughter, a girl, a woman , a friend along with many other titles. To pick prostitute or whore to describe her in this situation is ignorant. -

The song is about a girl Ed Sheeran met while playing at a homeless shelter. Only 18 himself at the time, Ed was shocked by her story and felt the need to write a song about it when he got home. The girl was addicted to crack, which is considered a Class-A drug. Rather than coming right out and calling her a crack addict, he says she's on the "A Team." Though the girl hated herself for it, she resorted to prostitution to maintain her status on this team.

the meaning of this song is drug addiction so the song is about a girl who takes drugs and she can't afford a house or clothes. tO GET MONEY SHE SELLS HERSELF OFF TO MEN AND SHE JUST CAn't live a normal life. She can't change the fact that she is losing her flesh and falling apart. Because she is so close to death she has no more chances to help herself to survive. People are talking about her behind her back because she's on class a drugs. Her face is now a delicate texture of pastry. She is sleeping on the streets and has no protection at all.
