This song is about Eminem’s fans who see him as a role model or a god, and he hates it.. This song is the funny side of Stan, which appears in a later album. This song is also taking pot-shots at Sonny Bono, Ron Goldman and Garth Brooks to name a few. It’s very funny, and you don’t have to like rap to enjoy it.

It's just a song, bro. He wrote down words that rhyme and BAM! He had a rap song. The whole role model thing is just to be ironic, saying all these things, (I tie a rope around my penis and jump from a tree!) then saying you must want to be just like me. Em wrote this before he was famous, he didn't see himself as a role model, and I'm sure he didn't think that others would, either.

LOL you stupid ass f**k Role Model was well out before Forgot 'Bout Dre. He wasn't being serious, he was taking the piss out of people that follow everything they see on TV.

Haha you guys r fools, the SMART guy was saying that Eminem TOOK OFF (succeeded majorly) after he wrote "Forgot About Dre" not that he wrote that album after this song...read something twice once in a while...
