I definitely agree with the top rated interpretation. But there could be different meanings to other people. When I listen the song, I think of a girl who I know. If I was singing this song, I'd be mocking her. Another meaning of this song could be about a person mocking someone for lieing, hiding behind a mask of perfection, and just making themselves feel high and mighty and,"Oh, look at me. Love me! I'm perfect! I'm better than you all!" That is another meaning that most people get when they listen to the song, but don't watch the music video.

Aww this one grew on me

This song can be interpreted in many ways but it's actually a message to a relative of Amy Lee (sister, cousin, I forgot). But it's also a message to many people.

Its basically about how this girl has become what everyone wanted her to be instead of who she really is. She's putting on a charade for everyone else, but Amy can see right through it. She hates what she has become. That's the message to her (sister) I think.

The message to fans is clear as day. Be you, not what everyone tries to make you or whatever.

She is talking about herself in the song. It's about her changing who she was for publicity and publicity only. She knew that she would get everything that she wanted and did, but in later years, everything took a turn for the worst. The publicity just stopped, and people started seeing her in a different way. (It's kind of like what happened with Brittany Spears. So many people thought that she was so cool, until she lost publicity. It was even before she shaved her head.) People started making fun of her, and no one wanted her to advertise anymore. Everyone abandoned her, and she then got a chance to see what she did to herself. She lied to everyone about who she was, including herself. Then she realized that she had no one to blame but herself. ("Your not real and you can't save me")She realized that all of that publicity was built on something that never was and never will be.

I might be wrong, but I think the song is about media and supper stars and actors using media and altering their voices in songs. "Bow down and stare in wonder" you see and hear them live, but you stare wondering who they are. "Oh, how we love you" The fans one loved the star, but because he/she lied and used media, the fans are disappointed. And now they know the truth, and now they don't love him/her anymore.

I could be wrong. If I am I'll go with the interpretations above.

I think it's about fame changes people. In the video, she's crying over herself changing and being talked about by others, sometimes not in the most positive way, and how media lies. If you notice, she scribbles over a picture over herself (cause shes mad with herself), and the word LIE is used alot... The pizza.. The billboard.. The soda...
