I think that this song is about a girl that has a boyfriend who doesn't apreciate her and is never there for her. (Where is your boy tonight?) and she cheats on him with with FOB (maybe he won't find out what I know) and ends up regretting it. Afterwards FOB ends up liking her (You Need Him .. I could Be Him I could be an accident but I'm still tryin And that's more than I can say for him)

I think that this song happens to be about a guy that likes a girl, and that girl likes a jerk, and he wants to be that guy so that he can be with him

I think it's about Pete liking a girl who has a boyfriend that cheats on her. "where is your boy tonight" means that he's out with some other girl "I hope he is a gentlemen" is a sarcastic way of saying that he's seeing the other girl. "maybe he won't find out what I know, you were the last good thing about this part of town" is that Pete hopes the other guy won't love her as much as he does, because then Pete won't stand a chance.

Actually on Take this to your grave the majority of the songs are about his ex girlfriend who cheated on him with two of his friends in one weekend. I think it mostly means is why does she choose to cheat on him when he can give her more

I think that this song is about a guy who really likes this girl but she doesn't know it and is dating another guy. That guy that she is dating is goin around cheatin on her and she doesn't know it. The guy that likes this girl is tryin 2 prove 2 her that she deserves better and that he could be that guy that could treat her better. This is one of their easier songs to interpret!lol!

This song is clearly about a best friend (girl) that the narator is in love with, but the person he likes is already involved in a relationship. 'maybe he won't find out what I know: you were the last good thing about this part of town' suggests that the narrator thinks that the person's partner isn't good enough for her and that she deserves better, another line that backs this statement up is 'but I'm still trying and that's more than I can say for him'
'someday il appreciate and value' suggests that he hopes that he can someday appriciate that they are best friends and that she wants nothing more but he knows it won't come easialy.
'he won't find out' (background voices) suggests the concience of the girl when she is choosing to cheat on her boyfriend with her best friend or not to.

Mine is a mixture of many other interpretations. I think it about a guy who likes a girl who is dating/in love with an asshole who is unfaithful but she pretends not to see it, and the first guy feels he would be better than the asshole she is with because he really cares about her unlike the asshole she is with.

OK, this song is really about a guy (not naming anyone even though it's probably Pete) who likes this one girl but he can't have her because she so caught up with this one guy who doesn't diserve her and uses her, but the other guy is trying to make her see that he's a way better choice for a boyfriend.

This song is definitely about a girl the narrator sleeps with or the girl she is cheating on with to another girl. 'You were the last good thing about this part of town' and 'I hope he is a gentleman' means he hopes the girl's boyfriend is a gentleman so he won't do something threatening when he finds out. Also 'Maybe he won't find out what I know, you were the last good thing' shows that he maybe won't find out what the narrator knows...i'm so inarticulate

I think it's about a girl the narrator is in love with who was just dumped by her boyfriend and he's trying to comfort her and make her see she was way too good for him anyway "maybe he won't find out what I know/ you were the last good thing about this part of town" maybe I'm TOTALLY wrong but that's how I picked it up!

In my personal interpretation, I think that it's about a guy who is in love with his best friend...but at the moment she's dating someone else....The line "maybe he won't find out what I know/You were the last good thing about this part of town." implies that he hopes that this guy is so wrong for her that he doesn't realize how great she is ("what I know") and the only reason he [the narrarator] even sticks around is the possibility of being with her and if this new guy steals her away he has no reason to be. He's writing her a song that he may or may not sing to her telling her how he feels and trying his hardest to show her that this guy and any other guy but him is not right for her.

Pete's best friends with a girl, and they;ve been friends since almost forever. But she's dating this one guy who pete knows is just not good enough for her. She's moving across town or out of state for some reason or another and pete wants to tell her how he feels about her, because he really likes her. "where is your boy tonight I hope he is a gentleman maybe he won't find out what I know you were the last good thing about this part of town" he thinks her boyfriend doesn't appreciate her or even realize how great she is, but he does. Therefore he wants to be with her and he thinks they should be together

I think of it as the girl and guy being best friends and the guy being secretly in love with the girl but the girl is dating a guy that doesn't love her and is cheating on her. The guy says that he could be him and care and love her if she knew that she was 'the last good thing about this part of town.'

I think it's about a guy liking a girl who is obviously with someone else,,,and he's saying where is your boy tonight I hope he is a gentleman wheres is he as in is he in you...and I hope he is a gentleman means I hope he isn't in you because I like you :) xxx
