Okay, this could be way off... but here's what I think:
I believe this song is about a guy (Pete) whose girlfriend cheats on him (Pete's girlfriend, in fact, cheated on him with his two best friends in the same weekend). Because of this, he's filled with many emotions.
"Drink down that Gin and Kerosene,
And come spit on bridges with me,
Just to keep us warm.
Light a match to leave me be.
Light a match to leave me be."
To pour gin and kerosene on a bridge would, of course, make it highly flamable. Lighting a match would make the bridge catch on fire and burn down. Thus, I think this lyric is meant to reference "burning bridges." The metaphor "burning bridges" can be interpreted different ways, but considering one of the lines ("Light a match to leave me be."), it could be meant as burning "social bridges." You know, like cutting ties? Because of this betrayal, he doesn't want to have anything to do with her anymore.
"I keep my jealousy close,
'Cause it's all mine."
Obviously, he would be feeling jealousy if she cheated on him. I'm probably overthinking it, but maybe the "'cause it's all mine" line is there because he feels like he's lost a lot of things (his girlfriend, his girlfriend's affection, his trust in his girlfriend, etc.) and maybe he feels that his jealousy is all he has that belongs soully to him. (This is all in more of an emotional sense, not physical)
"And if you say this makes you happy,
Then I'm not the only one lying."
Once he's found out about the cheating, there would noteably be tension in their relationship. Maybe the girlfriend still might have wanted to be with him after cheating on him (it's happened before) and because he loves her, maybe he doesn't dump her immediately. But there would be tension and their relationship would be strained, which would make both of them unhappy. But if the girl really wanted to be with him, she would lie about being happy.
"Keep quiet.
Nothing comes as easy as you."
The 'keep quiet' could maybe mean he's tired of hearing her excuses. The other line could be a reference to how easy or slutty he feels she is for cheating on him.
"Can I lay in your bed all day?"
I'm probably really off with this, but this line could just be about how tired and emotionally as well as physically trained the whole ordeal has made him feel, and how he just wants to be with her like normal again.
"I'll be your best kept secret
And your biggest mistake."
I have a little trouble wit this line... but I'm guessing maybe his girlfriend might neglect telling people about him in the future because of her cheating on him, and how she might look back on the entire relationship (or maybe just her cheating on him) as a mistake.
"The hand behind this pen relives a failure every day."
Because of her cheating on him, he feels like a failure in general. He probably replays the fact over and over again in his head and wonders if it's his fault he couldn't make her happy.
"So wear me like a locket around your throat.
I'll weigh you down.
I'll watch you choke.
You look so good in blue.
You look so good in blue."
This verse shows the anger he would feel because of her deception. As much as a person may deny it, in the midst of rage, almost everyone has probably thought or said they wanted to kill the person who upset them.

I agree that he wants to be with this girl, but can't be. I think they are friends though, and he wants to be more than friends, but she doesn't. I love this song and I love the acoustic version too from Chloe X.

I can interpret a few parts of this song that I picked out, one part being "so wear me like a locket around your throat/I'll weigh you down I'll watch you choke/you look so good in blue/you look so good in blue" that means that he loves her so much that he wants to be with her through anything, even though it's hurting both of them.
As for this part: "keep quiet/nothing comes as easy as you/can I lay in your bed all day?/I'll be your best kept secret and your biggest mistake/the hand behind this pen relives a failure every day" that stands as, he wants to be with her sexually and emotionally and personally, (basically I'm overviewing in detail that he loves her), and that he knows it's wrong but he wants her anyway. like he's diving into the deep end and doesn't want to surface though he knows he can. some of Fall Out Boy's songs are hard to interpret but they're Pete's feelings, nonetheless. I think loonylovegood was right on a few things, but she seemed to have trouble with the chorus, and I think I can clarify a bit.
"Keep quiet.
Nothing comes as easy as you."
Now, I always thought that the narrator (wether it's Pete or not is another debate)was stillin love with the girl, even though she created on him or broke his heart in some other way. With that thought in mind, the "Keep quiet" is his way of saying that he already knows what she did, but dosn't care. "Nothing comes as easy as you" is talking about how he feels that the only thing that comes natural to him is loving her, so it doesn't really matter if she's a good girlfriend or not
"Can I lay in your bed all day?"
This line is about how he loves her still, so he still wants to be with her in ever sense.
"I'll be your best kept secret
And your biggest mistake."
HE realizes that she's not the best girlfriend, and he's probably feeling a little down if she's been with other guys. He may be feeling that if she felt the need to go be with someone else, he's failing at being a good boyfriend. She may be ashamed because he's such a bad lover, which explains why she wants to keep him a secret. He's a mistake because she could do so much better.

This song is about the girl Pete was in love with for two years. He was away on tour and she slept with two of his best friends over the same weekend and the songs about getting revenge over that girl.

Ok guys... your interpretations on the "So wear me like a locket around your throat..." part are completely different from what I came up with.
"So wear me like a locket around your throat
I'll weigh you down,
I'll watch you choke
You look so good in blue
You look so good in blue."
I think it has something to do with the girl showing off the boy to everyone ("so wear me like a locket around your throat"), like maybe a lot of girls were after him, but she got him. The boy did not like this and maybe the girl never really loved him; maybe she oly wanted him because everyone else did. The boy realized that their relationship would never work out.
So, the girl was wearing the boy like a locket by showing him off, but not really loving him. So the boy was unhappy because he really loved the girl and wished that she would just leave (I really liked that other person's "burning bridges" theory, and I agree with it). That would be "I'll weigh you down, I'll watch you choke". Perhaps it has something to do with the girl choking on her words later.
But the last lines:
"You look so good in blue.
You look so good in blue."
I think that the boy still loved the girl with all his heart, even though she didn't feel that way about him. So he thought she was beautiful, even though he hated her at the same time. Its hard to explain.
I'm horrible with words.

It's a quote. I didn't mean it QUITE that way, I misspoke. It's not a line in the song.

I guess I interpreted different than yall did... I kinda think it's about a girl cheatin on her b/f with the main character... "Keep quiet"- like so no one can hear them together... "Nothing comes as easy as you"- he has no problem doing things with her bc he loves her... "I'll be your best kept secret and your biggest mistake"- No one will know about it, and its a mistake to keep doing it, but they will anyway.... "The hand behind this pen relieves a failure every day"- and then he writes about it.. Hence this song.

I think this song is about a guy who once had a girl, but the girl let him go. Now he's torn between wanting and still caring for her or having nothing to do with her because he's so hurt.
I think the chorus says it all. He gives her a locket, which is a sign of love. The he watches as it chokes her. He doesn't intervene and let's her suffer which indicates to me he has ill-feelings towards her. However, even as she's on the brink of death he can't but help to admire her beauty even as she turns a pale shade of blue.

Okay all I know is that nobody puts baby in the corner is a quote from the movie dirty dancing. If you have seen the movie it kinda relates with the song, like the best kept secret part of the song and in the movie they were trying to keep their relationship a secret, so maybe they based it off of the movie.

Okay, Well Have ya heard of the movie "Dirty Dancing" the orginal. Okay in one part of the movie the guy says "Nobody puts baby in the corner"
this might be really stupid interpretation, but I think the band got the theme of the song from the movie! Most people thought that the song means that this girl wants to be more than friends with this guy etc.[if you don't know what I'm talking about, read other peoples' comments] And I think it the right! So ya!

I think everyone knows what the verses are about but this is what I think the chorus mean...
"Keep quiet nothing comes as easy as you
I'll be your best kept secret and you biggest mistake"
-i think this is said from the guy she cheated on pete with..."keep quiet" meaning don't tell anyone...
"The hand behind this pen relieves a failure everyday"
-thats about how pete write songs or lyrics about this event.
"So where me like a locket around your throat"
-he saying "like"..so its a simile...he wants her to remember what she did to him. make her feel guilty.
"i'll weigh you down ill watch you choke
you look so good in blue"
-he's hoping she have so much guilt that it chokes her and makes her life miserable. He's not actually killing her..he's using a metaphor...

The part where it says "wear me like a locket" reminds me of the poem "rhyme of the ancient mariner." in the poem an old sailor murders this albatross (a beautiful bird believed to be good luck to sailors) and for this his crew makes him wear the dead bird around his neck as a reminder for the crime he committed. I think it may be the same thing in this situation. He's saying what you did is horrible and you will have to live with it (wear me like a locket around your throat) and he is also saying that she deserves whatever bad things that happen to her and all the guilt that she feels (ill weigh you down I'll watch you choke you look so good in blue).

I always thought the bit about:
You look so good in blue
meant that he hates her so much that he wants her dead so she can't hurt him any more. Could be wrong though.......

"You look so good in blue" - I think the girl in the song is turning blue from being choked by the locket around her throat?

"So wear me like a locket around your throat"
I think this line has to do with the figurative phrase "twist somebody around your little finger" which means you're succeeding in making somebody do exactly as you wish. The throat=finger or controller, so the girl's trying to be the dominant one in the relationship and the locket=the person being manipulated, the narrator.
"I'll weigh you down and watch you choke"
The narrator won't stand for being controlled like that so he is basically stating that he will be the controller's downfall.
"You look so good in blue/you look so good in blue"
This line is extremely sadistic and bitter. He's getting pleasure from her pain.

The song is about a boy who really wants a girl but he thinks that she would be ashamed of him. Thus, "your best kept secret".

OK so I think loonylovegood has most of it right except for the line "The hand behind this pen relives a failure every day."
I think that part The hand behind this pen means that he's writing down the way he feels in the form of this song and the part relives a failure every day."
When the other people hear the song it relieves them of feeling like a failure to no someone else went threw the same thing (or just him writing the song relives him of feeling like a failure)

"You look so good in blue" could be speaking bitterly about how cold she is. "So wear me like a locket around your throat/I'll weigh you down, I'll watch you choke/You look so good in blue" might be like the others said about how she was using him as a trophy (if it is from Pete's perspective, it would make sense- Dating him only for his fame or something) and she'd pay for it.
"Keep quiet/Nothing comes as easy as you," honestly, I agree with the others who say he's calling her a slut. Someone who's "easy." He doesn't want to hear her excuses for being such an easy catch. "Can I lay in your bed all day?" sounds like he's mocking her about the guys she sleeps with. "I'll be your best kept secret" is kind of contradictory of the locket shtick, so again, he might be saying that he'd be her BEST kept secret, since the other guys obviously weren't very secret. But he'd also be her BIGGEST mistake, aside from the huge mistakes the other guys were. So he wants to be her biggest mistake so he can get revenge...?
"The hand behind this pen relives a failure every day" has a different tone than the rest of the song, because his bitterness is replaced by shame at how much of a failure he is. Whenever he looks at the lyrics or hears the song, it reminds him of how much of a failure he is.
