Patrick wrote this song, not pete. It's about growing older ("18 going on extinct") and feeling like you're being a total failure at the whole growing up and taking responsibilities thing. "I know my place is nowhere you should roam" could also be about how Pete and Joe (andy too, even though he wasn't in the band when the first album came out) were all in the hardcore scene when Fall Out Boy just started out, and Patrick, well, wasn't.

Patrick didn't write the song, because Patrick doesn't title his songs with ambiguous puns seemingly unrelated to the content of the songs he simply titles them after the chorus. (Calm Before the Storm, Dance, Dance) 'I know my place its nowhere you should roam' is in terms of Pete being a loser in high school 'a failure at everything'
