I'm good to go
And I'm going nowhere fast
It could be worse
I could be taking you there with me
I'm good to go
But it looks like I...

I was watching a youtube video with Patrick and Pete explaining the meaning of Saturday. According to them...or better yet to Patrick..."he" not Pete wrote the song talking about his graduation. He was talking about how he and all of his classmates were going to be going on different roads. Patrick went on to say that the song as referred to Fall Out Boy's music in general and how as the band they are elevating and going on to new levels in their career and also how they were improving.

THE SONG IS NOT ABOUT SUICIDE!

On the take this to your grave directors cut DVD, Patrick clearly states that it's about graduating from high school and feeling like a failure.

I think it's great and that it's about getting started the people that think it's about suicide are nuts I think you are just looking for something that's not there your reading to much into it

This is not about suicide at all. Patrick wrote the song. Patrick's not suicidal.

I think Saturday is about how Patrick's life was pretty boring and ordinary before he met Pete ("read about the after-life, but I never really lived") and now that he's in fall out boy everything is "golden".

Either way, I think it's pretty obvious this song is like "the" fall out boy song for them. It represents who they are perfectly.

I really have no idea what this song means but I wish someone could explain it better than what I've heard. I'm pretty sure its not about Pete's suicide attempt no one ever gives him 4 any thing any more. So what about the attempt he probably feels realay bad about it he was just depressed. I've been there, it doesn't feel good so I no how he's feeling. Just leave him alone!

Well, Pete usually writes the lyrics for the songs and Patrick writes the music, but in this case, Patrick wrote the lyrics. He says he worked really hard on the song and he's proud of it. It's obviously not about suicide.

I kind of agree with the Patrick's graduation theory.
"I've read about the after life but I've never really lived."
He's read about people in college and beyond, but he's just graduation.
The part about Saturday? Now I haven't graduated nor have I been to a graduation, but aren't they on Saturdays?
"Saturday
When these open doors were open-ended"
On Saturday[graduation perhaps] a bunch of doors, or opportunities, open up for him and his classmates.

It's just a guess/my interpretation.

Saturday Video Clip: Pete is a murderer and Patrick is the detective. The card is like a trail that Pete leaves behind after every death. It's trying to tell us that "I know you want to catch me, but the only evidence i'm going to leave behind is this card." Patrick is trying to figure out who did do murder them all. The whole video clip is about Pete And Patrick being the same person. When Patrick hits himself, Pete suddenly feels it. When Pete shoots Patrick (you can see that Pete has no jacket on and Patrick does) then Patrick dies, Pete now has Patricks jacket and vice versa and looks in his jacket and finds a card. He dies and the card lies in his hand.

Come on people this song is not about suicide, Pete Wentz did not white the song either. When Patrick sings im good to go that means he is ready to die but hes not going anywhere anytime soon. This song is about getting out of highschool and trying to do somthing fun with their lives. They cant wait for the next Saturday so they can put on another show.

I think the song is about making it as a band aswell, the line where it says "Pete and I attacked the lost Astoria with promise and precision", from what I've gathered the Astoria is a venue in London.

I don't want to bust a bubble but it's Pete and I attacked AND LOST THE STORY not attacked the lost story.
