Fall Out Boy: Thnks Fr Th Mmrs Meaning
Thnks Fr Th Mmrs Lyrics
(It sent you to me without wait)
Say a prayer but let the good times roll
In case god doesn't show
(Let the good times roll
Let the good times roll)
And I want these words to make things right
But it's...

This song... and any real fall out boy fan who didn't jump on the bandwagon when from under the cork tree made it big would know this... Is about Chris Gutierrez an old childhood friend of Pete Wentz. Pete had "relations" with Chris' girlfriend and when he found out he blasted pete on his livejournal saying things like who does he think he is (the reason for the title don't you know who I think I am?). one nite stand refers to his sex with chris's girlfriend and put your fingers back to the keys is pete telling him that if he can't get over it or do better than some petty insults on an online blog he needs to put his fingers back to the (keyboard) keys and keep on typing until his heart is content.

Thnks Fr Th Mmrs makes perfect sense the way it is spelled. Because its like he's not taking out the time to actually spell it or say it because it didn't mean anything, either to him or her.
When they say "he tastes like you only sweeter" he's quoting what the girl said. Its even put in quotation marks in the cd jacket.
My interperetation of the song is that Pete is sleeping with this girl because that's the only way he knows how to keep her. And I definitely think that the part where he says "I've been looking forward to the future, but my eyesight is going bad" means that it has worked long enough, but he dosent know how much longer it will. And he's scared she's going to leave. So he's saying "thanks for the memories, even though they weren't so great" because that's not how he wanted the relationship to be. Kinda like in Fame < Infamy where he says "I'm alright in bed, but I'm better with a pen". Come on, Pete Wentz has so much more to offer. -

You're all ridiculous.
Everyone knows this is about how they're all depressed because of the vicious FATcycle:
1.They're hungry
2.They eat
3.They eat
4.They feel bad
5.They eat more to fill the void
6.They eat
and so on.
The lyrics should be interpreted as metaphores for food and hunger:
-"One night yeah and one more time..." = "Last night's banoffee pie was oh SO good."
-"Thanks for the memories" = "Good times. CAKEE."
-"Even though they werent so great" = "I prefer chocolate"
-"He tastes like you only sweeter" = ("He" being the chocolate and "you" being the banoffee pie, I think you can get it from there.)
-"In hotel rooms" = "Room service"
-"Collecting page six lovers" = (Page 6 being the dessert menu)
-"Get me out of my mind" = "CORRRR I could do with a sneaky shot of hot fudge"
-"Get you out of those clothes" = (Taking off wrappers, "you" being the fudge/taking off clothes after eating too much)
-"I'm a letter away" = "....from getting another chocolate bar"
-"From getting you into the mood" = "For making you hungry."
-"Woah" = No explanation needed.
I rest my case,
FEED FALL OUT BOY.
We will shortly be forwarding this to congress - a petition is indeed needed. -

This song is all about two lovers who have been one night stand, the boy want some more ;) and he would like to thank the girl even though he's not yet satisfy, and he's asking for another one to make it better.

I think this song is about a past relationship that went bad and he's saying thanks in kind of a sarcastic tone. You know like thanks for nothing. Than she moved on to someone new but came back to him for one last fling thus him saying one night and one more time.

I played this song for my ex after we broke up. It was really bittersweet, but it works perfectly. I left him because the only thing left in the relationship was sex, and soon after I was asked out by another guy, so "thanks for the memories even though they weren't so great, he tastes like you only sweeter!"

"He tastes like you, only sweeter" could refer to the taste of a kiss. It's not necessarily ejaculation.

I think this song is about two people who were friends but sleep with each other once to get over recent breakups and then regret it. "I'm gonna make you bend and break (It sent you to me without wings)" = They're happy to find each other and hope to stay together a long time at first. "Say a prayer, but let the good times roll, in case God doesn't show" = They both know they should take it slow, but decide to have sex ("let the good times roll") because they know there's a chance it won't last. "And I want these words to make things right, but it's the wrongs that make the words come to life" = They want to say hey love each other and be able to justify their actions, but having sex will make them fall deeper in love with each other - or so they think. "Who does he think he is? If that's the worst you got, better put your fingers back to the keys." = They want to stay mad at each other and feel used at first, but in the end they forgive each other. "One night and one more time, thanks for the memories, even though they weren't so great. He tastes like you, only sweeter" = They're thankful to each other for helping each other get over things but at the same time are sad it didn't turn into anything more, and are comparing each other to their exes. "Been looking forward to the future, but my eyesight is going bad" = They had high hopes for what could have been, but are "blinded" by the realization that they don't feel that way for each other after they have sex. "And this crystal ball is always cloudy except for when you look into the past" = Hindsight is 20/20. "One night stand, one-night stand off" = Their encounter turned into an emotional battlefield for both of them. "I only think in the form of crunching numbers in hotel rooms collecting Page Six lovers" = This refers to their turn to other things to get their minds off the mistakes. "Get me out of my mind, get you out of those clothes; I'm a line away from getting you into the mood" = They have to really restrain themselves from doing anything again, and wish things were different; they fantasize about each other still even though they can no longer be together.

Actually the song title is thnks fr th mmrs because its a facetious nod at their record company, who asked them to shorten their song titles

I think this song is about a guy that slept with a girl and basically used her to figure out that he's gay, and now he regrets it. If you listen to "Sugar, We're Goin Down" before it, it tells the girl's side of the story.

This song could be about a drug addict trying to give up his addiction. Here's my analysis of the parts of the song that relate to this theory: "I'm gonna make you bend and break" - Drugs made him bend and break; "Say a prayer, but let the good times roll, In case God doesn't show" - Pray you don't OD but have fun if you don't (if God doesn't take you); "And I want these words to make things right, but it's the wrongs that make the words come to life" - He's telling people he'll quit doing drugs, but the fact he's doing them is what gives the words meaning. "Who does he think he is" - Perhaps about a father figure or someone else who is telling him not to do drugs. As for the chorus, "One night and one more time" - He's telling himself this will be the LAST night he'll do drugs (e.g. "I can quit whenever I want."); "Thanks for the memories, even though they weren't so great" - He's telling the drug goodbye, but reminding himself the effects were dangerous; "He tastes like you, only sweeter" - Freedom tastes like drugs only sweeter. The second part of the chorus is identical to the first, but he repeats "Thanks for the memories," possibly to firmly tell himself the drugs are gone. "Looking forward to the future, But my eyesight is going bad" - He's thinking of what he wants to do with his life but is losing sight of his goals because of the drugs; "And this crystal ball, Is always cloudy except for when you look into the past" - You never know the drug's true consequences until after the fact. "One-night stand...One-night stand off" - His addiction leads him into a one-night stand, after which he battles himself about quitting drugs. "I only think in the form of crunching numbers" - Refers to either a.) Losing money to support his habit or b.) Actually weighing drugs and dealing with the money; "In hotel rooms" - Doing drugs in hotel rooms to sort of cover his tracks; "Collecting Page Six lovers" - Reference to using rolled-up magazine pages to snort cocaine through. The drug references go away in the end of the breakdown, but come back in the repeated choruses, which are sung with a feeling of force and anguish, and the final power chord, which sounds like he's giving up. It's one of my favorite Fall Out Boy songs. I've always loved the band for their deep lyrics.

The title has no vowels. If you look on the FOB website Pete says the record company told them to shorten their song's names. So they were just being smart asses. They thought it was funny.

Well, my interpretation was that, well, obviously, he had a one night stand with this girl.
the lyrics are just text message conversations. (hence why the title is in chat speak)
"he tastes like you, only sweeter" is what the girl texted to him, meaning her new boyfriend/sex partner/whatever you interpret is better than him, etc.
thats just what my friends and I think, and it seems to make a lot more sense to me than pete sleeping with his friends girlfriend; I could be wrong, but it makes sense to me (:

For those guessing about why the title has no vowels in it, its not a symbol for anything. I don't remember exactly who, but someone wasn't going to let FOB title the song Thanks For The Memories, because they thought it was too long. So to mock them, they removed all the vowels to shorten it, but still have the title they wanted.

"He Tastes Like You Only Sweeter" Is a line from the movie "closer" from which lines seem to appear in a great deal of FOB songs i've noticed.

"The song, according to bassist Pete Wentz in an interview with Kerrang!, refers to a romantic relationship in which the initial sentiments have perished, but both lovers continue to "sleep with each other" to appease their physical and mental desires. The title, "Thnks fr th Mmrs" is the words "thanks for the memories" after having been disemvowelled, much like it would be written as part of a text message." -Wikipedia
