It's about how the pressures of life will only be releaved by god. It's saying to lift the burdon and "breathe" you must find god. God won't remove all your problems but he will help you endure them. Without god, the suffering that satan has planted in your life will not go away. Ephesians 6:11-13 "put on the whole armour of god, that ye may be able to stand against the tricks of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and bllod but against princpalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against all spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of god, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all to stand."

Shes talking about pressures of the world against the voice of God.
She is relating to the world choking her suffocating her to choose there path of directions (logic forces me to believe in this)and then her friends probably choosing the word path and her choosing Jesus.
The so many lies parts in the chorus is her telling people how much the world lies to you just to force you to do stuff.
and then the big enough to feel the void inside of you is talking about how god is big enough to feel a missing part in you.

i feel it is a point in her life when she was strugging with her faith and building it stronger

This song is about people who will do whatever it takes to fit in and how the pressure is way too much for someone to take, and that they must "breathe" by being their self.

I honestly think the song is about someone who is very strong at heart and believes in God, but people toy and mistreat with him or her and their falling apart but they hold on everyday just for God and it gets harder and harder just to breathe. And so I honestly think that when that person is able to breathe they die and go to God and they can finally breathe.

Someone trying to get through a tough moment in life and remembering some words of advice they got from someone respected that is now dead to use as a way to cope but find in the end that the words of advice no longer serve their intended purpose.

People in the world are all trying to give us all those standards that we need to meet in order to be accepted "so many lies swarming around you, you're suffocating"....but actually "you can only move as fast as who's in front of you"meaning in God's eyes man are kind of nothing, they are pathetic, lining up in a line in pursuit of something that's not true.

Our value does not base on what we do, because we all die and after that nothing we have on earth, like a doctor degree or a trillion dollars will matter.....we need to breathe and spend time with God...
