I need to know what people think about this song. Could it be that we focus on the good parts of a relationship and hope the bad times will never come, however we brace ourselves for it, and perhaps wait for it to happen therefor making our relationships sour by waiting for things to go wrong?? Help me out..

The song is about a girl he'd fallen in love with when they were dating (Louise Post from the band Veruca Salt). He said so in Kerrang! magazine

A comment above said it was written for his wife, Jennifer Youngblood, and to check on Wiki. According to wiki it was written about Louise Post, like another comment said. And he's spoken about the song being about Louise in magazines.

And oh my GOD will people stop saying that ALL his songs are about Kurt? Yeah you probably could find evidence if you were looking specifically for it, but then again you could probably also find evidence that all of his songs are about depression or even gay porn! I reckon he has other people around him to think about now. As far as I know only My Hero and Friend of a Friend are about Kurt, based on interviews with Dave.
Get over it.

When I first heard this song I thought it was a break up song because the music is sort of intense and the tone is low; however, when I stopped to listen to the lyrics I thought it's a love song about a good relationship, either sexually and/or emotionally. Great tune!

There is so much to this song for one human besides Dave Grohl to understand it.

He was obviously in love or somewhere close to something at the point in time that he sang this song, and it became a part of him.

It could have been about a girl or drugs, drugs are strong but not strong enough for the full meaning of this song.

Somewhere deep in there ir could possibly be about Kurt and the drug addiction Dave feels he could of saved him from.

This song is about Dave and the peak of his happiness. He's finding the meaning of life and he does not want it to go away. Everything, from Kurt, to the girl he found, to drugs are put together in this song, but ultimately there is one meaning: finding the thing you've forever wanted and trying to hold on to it as best as you can.

It's rumoured about Dave's relationship with Louise Post of Veruca Salt as is Doll. She has also written a song about him and how he two timed her.

This song took me a while to understand but I finnaly got it right. Its definately about having a relationship and making love with a girl... Hello, I've waited here for you everlong (Means, he was waiting for the girl to come in his bed) Tonight I throw myself into, out of the red, out of her head she sang (Everytime he says, she sang or anything relating to singing, its because they make sound because they love it (orgasm) I'll let you get the rest, it's pretty easy after this The chorus is awsome And I wonder, when I sing along with you (When i'm having an orgasm with you at the same) the rest is easy Happy listening !
