If you take it literally, this is just a song about killing someone, but I don't think that they would literally wear someone's skin as a suit, so I see that line as reason to look for metaphorical meaning.
the chorus:
"I'll hide you in my walls
your body will never be found
I'll wear your skin as a suit
Pretend to be you, your friends will like you more than they used to"
I think this song is about hiding your true personality and creating some new image of yourself pretending to be you so that you friends will like you more. Basically, changing who you are to fit in. The lines "Dear diary my teen angst bullshit has a body count / I believe it's 6 going on 7 now" refer to how you have to keep changing your self over and over agian to fit in with the trend of the moment. This sentiment is also refected in the title, which is repeated at the end of the song. The use of the word "ride" shows that you aren't the one in control of who you have to be, you're just following what everyone esle says. The reason they use the word "pestilence" instead of disease is not just because it sounds better, but because pestilence is a widespread epidemic, not just somethign affecting you, showing that many people are throwing away their identities to fit in.

I'd have to say I agree with the first interpretation too.
I was reading the lyrics and all that came to mind was a person changing just to fit in. "i'll hide you in my walls" is like saying he'll get rid of his old self, like when you hide something in a place that it won't be easy to find. "your body will never be found" meaning no one will ever know of his old self. "i'll wear your skin as a suit / pretend to be you, your friends will like you more than they used to" saying he'll wear the physical part of his old self, but change non-physically into something his new friends will like better.
And for the second verse, "the scent of your insides / from under the floorboards / the perfect perfume / for settling a score" meaning the constant reminder of his old self is the price to pay for changing into something the person is not.

I also agree with the first interpratation, to a point.
There is an 80s movie called "heathers". It's about a couple of highschoolers who go around murdering people, and writing fake suicide notes for them. They kill the school prick, (lets just say...The girl everyone hates) and after people find out she "commited suicide" they all love her and miss her. That's the "I wear your skin as a suit, your friend will like you more than they used to".
As far as the "dear diary, my teen angst has a body count...I think it's going on 6 or 7 now", that's a direct quote from the movie.

The killers name is Edward Gein...There are direct links from his murders to the song." Gein's most infamous creation was an entire wardrobe fabricated from human skin...""...Gein's car which he used to haul the bodies of his victims was sold as public auction"...

I read an interview that someone had with Sonny and Derek. One of the questions was were you thinking when you wrote Ride the Wings of Pestilence, they pretty much said it wasn’t meant to be taken seriously and that they didn’t write it, someone they work with did.

The chorus reminds me of a movie silence of the lambs because the guy buffalo bill would kidnap girls by getting them into his van take them to his house and hid him in a hole in the ground kill them after a few days and use there skin to make a suit so he could look like a girl and he would hide the bodies.

I love this song. I read from a source that this song has a close relation to Edgar Allan Poe's "Tell-Tale Heart." In all, it sounds like someone wanting to kill a person they hate, but also admire.
I've seen the movie "Heathers." Winona Ryder was so fucking hot when she was teenager and she still is. I can't stop obsessing about her. I've written many of my own songs and poetry about her.

Yeah, I agree with the first post.
It's basically saying you "kill your old self" to fit in with the new fad.
Hide you in my walls?
Forget your past and move on, or, jokingly, putting your old clothes in the closet, which is in the wall.
Most people get their idea for a new fashion trend to pick up from someone else, which is where the "Pretend to be you" is from.
And I agree, riding the "wings of pestilence" means that this fad, is spreading so fast and is so strong it's more than a disease, it's like a plague, a pestilence. Instead of being knocked away by it, you ride it, joining it.

None of these meanings actually make sense when you read the whole song except for number one.

What about the video to this song? I live in cali so I'm right near a mission and was wondering...a lot of diseases did spread through the native American populations brought to the missions......what that whole theme has to do with the video?
