No one effin gets it this song is about everything that happens when your alone in a big city on your own! it's about how you get sucked into the nightlife of a big city. Axl's first day in the city the cab driver he was with said" you know where you are? you in the jungle baby your gunna die" he then used that as a theam for the song. The beginning of the video explains a lot the song is also bout how a big city changes you. Like at the beginning of the video he is a country boy but at the end he is TOTALLY different.

this person is the only one to have gotten the true meaning..the cab driver said to him, his first day in the city "d'you know where you are? you're in the jungle baby. you're gonna die!" and he then used this as inspiration for the song. The rest of the song was written about all the band member's different experiences in the big city... The line that says "you're a very sexy girl, whos very hard to please you can taste the bright lights but you won't get them for free" is obviously about money-hungry prostitutes. The line that says "you learn to live like an animal in the jungle where we play, if you've got a hunger for what you see you'll take it eventually you can have anything you want but you'd better not take it from me" is about having to be bad ass and act like that to fit in, in the city..

everyone else who interpreted it you're fucking idiots...maybe you oughtta listen to the song again... maybe you'll get it then

This is about Los Angeles. It exposes the dark side of the city many people encounter when they go there to pursue fame.

Hehe, they actually played this song on the P.A. system at my school once....

Axl stated this song was written when a tramp shouted at them one night 'You know where you are? You're in the jungle. You're gona die'. It scared Axl and stuck in his mind so he wrote this song about the city.

It's pretty obvious what this song is about. It's about the dangers of Los Angeles, the drug dealers and the hookers. sIt's about drugs and sex and that you can get either "if you got the money, honey".

Cab driver says, "Do you know where you are? Your in the jungle. You're gunna die", axl uses it as a theme. The night life, with protitutes, drug dealers, etc. and how easy an innocent girl (hence: "your a very sexy girl, that's very hard to please...) can get sucked in to the night life and get involved in the LA night life (the jungle).

Welcome to the jungle
We got fun 'n' games
We got everything you want
Honey we know the names
We are the people that can find
Whatever you may need
If you got the money honey
We got your disease

The disease refers to drugs, probably Heroin because Slash did a lot of that. The jungle is of course the big city.

Welcome to the jungle
We take it day by day
If you want you're gonna bleed
But it's the price you pay
And you're a very sexy girl
Very hard to please
You can taste the bright lights
But you won't get there for free
In the jungle
Welcome to the jungle
Feel my, my, my, my serpentine
I,I, wanna hear you scream

Tasting the bright lights refers to a drug, and there saying that she's whoring herself for the drugs. My serpentine is probably his penis.

This song is definitly about drugs
look at these parts from the lyrics

-If you got the money honey
We got your disease

-You can taste the bright lights
But you won't get them for free

-And when you're high you never
Ever want to come down, so down, so down, so down YEAH

-Watch it bring you to your
It's gonna bring you down!

In The Song Jungle Means Like A Place Where All Junkies,Potheads,Crackheads, Etc. Etc.

And When He Says I Wanna Hear You Scream Its Because I Think In My Opinion Though, That When She Gets High Or Whatever Drug She Takes She Might Get Raped But That's My Opinion

P.S
This Song Is Awesome

ok hold up just one second ok!? this song was based on the prison that axl was held in. "welcome to the jungle! your gonna die!" think about it! throw somebbody in jail is like throwing someone into a jungle full of hungry creatures waiting to eat your soul!!! guns n roses was the shit... but if you want my opinion, guns n roses went straight to hell the second slash got booted!!

all the people who say it's about sex are missing the part about drugs. all the people who say it's about drugs are missing the part about the sex. it's not about sex or drugs as an end though, but rather the corruption they interlace with in LA (or for that matter the underground of any big city). and no, "your disease" doesn't mean std, it refers to addiction (to sex, to drugs, to power, to whatever) in general.

I think its bout drugs liek everyone else. I also think that the jungle is the state of mind you are in when you are under their influences. People who experienced should know. Its like your in your own world. Nothing bothers u cus u dont care. But you need money for it.

To tell you the truth I'm a street cat, straight hip hop to the bone. I think this is the only rock song that I ever got into. My white friend let me here it in his car and I fully related to it. The song is about the big city street life, and to be honest if you don't live that lifestyle rather it's hip hop or rock then you're not gonna understand it. Big ups to guns n roses, this track keeps it real. Also this just go's to show that people from all walks of life can relate to the same music if it's REAL and not a gimmik.

UH, No. Welcome to the Jungle is about when the band went to New York, by bus, to find a gig. They never made it cuz they partied all night. On a city bus, a black (African- American) guy goes, Do you know where you are son? You're in the Jungle, Welcome, and you're gonna die. From the Book "Appetite for Destruction"
