Song Released: 2011
And the IV drips a steady stream of poison.
I think I'm just in love with the feeling.
Break my bones so I can feel them healing.
Crazy's I believe the medical term.

When I hear this song I feel like it describes the last 5 years of my life when I was still self harming and attempting suicide. "Depressions like a big fur coat, it's made of dead things but it keeps me warm." I can relate to this because I became so familiar with the feeling that I didn't want to change it.
"Iodine" is a song about people who abuse drugs due to depression. Ariel sings that she's crazy to believe that continuing her drug abuse will solve anything: "Crazy's I believe the medical term when we wanna recover but we don't wanna learn." She uses an interesting metaphor to describe depression - "it's made of dead things, but it keeps me warm." Depression isn't healthy but it allows her to survive. The drugs make her lose connection with reality and go crazy: "I can't make reality connect, I'll push till I have nothing left." But in conclusion, she says, "I do this to myself, stop blaming someone else, we do this to ourselves," meaning that she only has herself to blame for her drug abuse and even her depression.

My view of this song is that it could be about how we often abuse God's grace.. We SAY we want to live right, but never make the effort.. We often say sorry without truly repenting (turning away) from sin. We often go around & around in circles about what we want to live for..

I think it might be about drugs? Maybe antidepressants? It's something emotional, and probably involving medicine. That's all I got.
