It is about a man who goes through his life as if it were good but he really has a horrible life. Example: Back to reality and watcha about your wife can't smile cause ya knocked her teeth out. The key word is Back to Reality.

I think the song is about how you think some people can have a "perfect life" but in reality some of them have a pretty fucked up life.

I can't beleive you people don't know what this song is about, it explains itself pretty well. Deep subject matter is expressed in the usual cartoon-like violent ICP style, it tells a stroy about the "Halls of Illusions" where you can come and witness your illusion before you burn. The first verse explains an illusion of a man's kids playing Nintendo and his wife is there and they are fine, but he sees another man holding her hand. This is an illusion that never came true because of him. Then the music gets more intense and the vocals become louder and they explain how his wife can't smile because he knocked her teeth out. Then he dies a slow painful death at the hands of Milenko. Verse two is the same concept but about Mr. Clark, a dirty old man from a trailor park who abused his kids. The whole point of the song is that things that could have been fine in the lives of the people around an individual can be really messed up all because of them. Also, its implied that people who causes this type of hell in the lives of others will burn in hell.

The meaning is simple, as previously stated, it's what the life of them is, but what it could be if you were a better person, you make your life what it is. You sin, you go to hell and the people described in the song get a glimps of what things could've been, but they're not, and they get to see the pain and mysery they've caused the ones around them. For example- the man at the beginning who beat his wife, his 'ending' choosen my the Melinko, he will end up in the Hell's Pit no where close to Shangri La.

The song is truly stating that in the dark carnival, these people are punished for their sins, the halls of illusions is a scary reality check for these people to see what they have done wrong and there is no turning back at judgment day.....
