In the first verse where it says "And if I was a Serial Killer
I would be strange and deranged
And I would never change"
it shows the song could be about being who you are whether it be wrong or right, although about being a serial killer it also may relate to whoever you are there is always gonna be other people just like you. The song also relates to self belief, believe in yourself whatever you do as it says "I wanna hold up this hatchet" Like you are proud of who you are, and if you are happy with who you are, don't let go of it (just my views of what it's about, others will be different guaranteed)
