Transistor is what they used to call a radio back in the 60s. The song is entirely about music. It's not about dildo's, although an allusion is made between them. And there is a dialogue between the girl and the narrator; there isn't just one person speaking here. The narrator is commenting on how dark, twisted music is alleviating the pain and loneliness that this girl and everyone in the world feels. When no one understands you, you have your music, your "radio/transistor" to turn to ...the image of this girl with a radio between her legs gives us her sense of desperation, intimately letting the music "in." She's at her breaking point, finally understanding what everyone gets eventually - the world sucks. So she turns to music for comfort. It moves her emotionally, "reaching and inside you forever preaching." She shares in the anger of the music...the world has fucked her over, and she can say "Fuck you too." She can scream now in her silent, private, and personal rage, comforted by the fact that the music understands her pain. But despite all of this loneliness, the narrator and the music makes her realize you have to fight back or, "the world will eat you if you let it." But for right now, turn to music to ease your suffering and it won't hurt anymore. She cries out to be anesthetized, degrading herself at the same time.

This song is not about transistors. It is about the life that women who spend their lives at concerts and clubs lead.
there is a comparison between 2 things here: the music, and the transistor. The woman is a socket (or whatever, I don't now the elictrical term) and the music is the transistor. a transistor is something that you INSERT, thus the line:Hold it between your legs." the "wind" is that windy sound that amps make when you plug in a guitar cable. It is all a sexual allusion.

"A lonely life, where no one understands you
But don't give up, because the music do "

this shows the lonely life that these girls lead, where they think that no one loves them. a lot of people submit themselves totally to music becuase they have no one else to submit to (fall in love with).

"Your scream's a whisper"

as the music gets louder, which is what she wants (eg, turn it up! turn it up!) it eventually consumes her, and gets so loud that her screams are drowned out.

"And as your tears fall on
Your breast, your dress
Vibrations coming through "

this part talks about how she has become part of the music, and ceases to exist. It is like when you put a liquid in another liquid: it becomes part of the other liquid. Her tears give proof to this. Sound makes vibrations, and because her tears make vibrations, that means that she is sound itself, she ceases to exist.

i don't understand this part :
"Hey you, hey you, this won't hurt a bit
This won't hurt a bit, this won't hurt
Says who? Says who?
Anesthetize this bitch
Anesthetize this bitch, anesthetize!
Just let me be
Between you and me don't fit "

maybe someone can fill me in

Hey I do think it's about vibrators. The lyrics are very suggestive of this.

"hold it between your legs
turn it up, turn it up"

"inside you forever preaching"

"your scream's a whisper"

"vibrations coming through
you're in a mess"

etc etc. I really like the line "your scream's a whisper". Well.. when you r like masturbating, inside of your head you will be screaming away. But then since its such a personal thing, you just let it out as a whisper.

however, I don't think that's all. I believe the band meant to use the vibrator as a symbol of self-indulgence, like the music we listen to when we are sad, angry, happy etc etc.

The vibrator say to the girl,

"hey you, hey you, this won't hurt a bit
this won't hurt a bit, this won't hurt
says who? says who?
anesthetize this bitch
anesthetize this bitch, anesthetize!
just let me be
between you and them things"

On the other hand, maybe the humming of the vibrator is seen as a "music" of sort, albeit a sinful one.

Lol, maybe I'm dead wrong. Just my opinion.

This is about male to female (mtf) transsexuals.
Transistor sounds like Trans Sister.

Hey you, hey you, Devil's little sister
/ They are sometimes viewed (by the religeous, for example) as an obomination, or an opposition to god.

Listening to your Twisted Transistor
/ Twisting a transistor could cause a short, and change the behaviour of an electronic circuit. It's listening to the urge to be female.

Hold it between your legs
/ Hiding the genitals (known as tucking) to give a female appearance.

Turn it up, turn it up
/ Refers to the increasing changes in behaviour and apearance.

The wind is coming through
/ Refers to the finding of one's true self, it is a force of nature.

Can't get enough
/ The transsexual's increasing desire to transistion.

A lonely life, where no one understands you
/ Rejection (or worse) from family and friends is not uncommon for transsexuals.

But don't give up, because the music do
Music do [x6]
/ a showing of understanding/support

Your scream's a whisper
/ Transexuals often suffer in silence, keeping their secret, for fear of rejection.

Hey you, hey you, finally you get it
The world ain't fair, eat you if you let it
/ The intollerant will do anything to stop them.

And as your tears fall on
Your breast, your dress
/ hiding one's true self causes great sadness.

Vibrations coming through
/ Those that support and understand are reaching out.

You're in a mess
/ Transsexuals often loose their family, friends, employment and more simply because of who they are.

Hey you, hey you, this won't hurt a bit
This won't hurt a bit, this won't hurt
/ A transsexual's transistion is for personal reasons, not to turt anyone.

Says who? Says who?
/ People close to the transsexual often see the transistion as the death of the person that they have known, or as a way of punishment or retaliation.

Anesthetize this bitch
Anesthetize this bitch, anesthetize!
/ The voice of a surgeon. Surgery is often viewed as the final stage of transistion.

Just let me be
/ The will of the transsexual.

Between you and me don't fit
/ The voice of those that are not accepting of the transsexual.

I think it's actually referring to both music and masturbation. It doesn't really matter which way you look at it, they both have the same purpose for her: comfort, and understanding.

Okay folks, for the last time, this fucking song is NOT about vibrators!! Vibrators have nothing to do with music... This song is about music and the people that get too involved with it and it's fucking up their lives. 'Twisted Transistor' and parts in the song such as 'hold it between your legs, turn it up, turn it up,' are metaphors to the music. The 'twisted transistor' is music; that's what these people use to relieve their tensions (i.e. people use vibrators to relieve sexual tension). So if you take this song literally, don't. It's all one big metaphor.

Whoever said that all of KoRn's songs are about sex or dirtiness is totally wrong. All KoRn songs have a veneer of perversion to them, but a ton of them have deeper meaning. I'm not sure what this song's about (you guys have all given good interpretations), but I'm sure that if it was supposed to be about jacking off, it would be a lot more obvious.

It's about feeling alone and listening angry music.
It is NOT about masturbating with vibrators or woofers.
That's idiotic.

If any of you disagree with me I'll kick your ass, cause I heard this straight from the mouth of the man himself - Jonathan Davis.

It's about how people are fucking like, rejected by society and they feel alone and they find comfort in the knowledge and the music. It's like the music is saving their life, and it's the only thing understands them.

Twisted Transistor is kind of like how Korn's music is. It's life-saving for some, hundreds can relate to it and JD gets all these letters and emails and shit saying "god it if wasn't your music, I'd have killed myself".

In my opinion, to sum it up, it's about the life-changing effect and power that music has.

Concept
"You know that feeling when you're alone in your room, you feel bad and nothing around you seems to be going well then suddenly when you turn on your radio, you are immediately 'deep in the music'. That's exactly the subject of Twisted Transistor with the lyrics: "A lonely life where no one understands you but don't give up because the music does". – Jonathan Davis

I am a huge Korn fan, and after reading what you already put together on this song, how she basically is letting the music become part of her,and is basically, like you said, having a sexual illusion, well I got to thinking, and well, maybe the part that you don't get is about rape...

Alright, you at the top... I would have, WOULD HAVE, believed your story, but.. "Hold it between your legs, turn it up, turn it up" WHY WOULD SHE HAVE A RADIO AND HOLD IT BETWEEN HER LEGS WHILE TURNING IT UP!?!? No, if she had free hands to turn the radio up, she would have free hands to hold the radio. And why do you believe, if this was about a radio in between her legs, that it is strictly music-related? As if you were in denial... It's quite possible that she was using the music or bass of vibrations WHILE masturbating. It doesn't have to be strictly music or sex, why can't it be she's having sex and is using music to drown out her moans? Or, hell, using the bass's vibrations as a turn-on. Some people need to be more open-minded when interpreting...
