"and the ground below grew colder
as they put you down inside"

I interpret that as just a funeral on a cold day, I don't necessarily think it is about suicide.

I believe that this song is about losing someone, and being alone on Valentine's Day. If you listen to the lyrics closely, you'll see what I'm talking about.

Its all about...the feeling of someone who lost his or her lover........how he/she is feeling on that special occasion......when the special person should be around, but he/she is not. A deep sense of loneliness is coming out of the song.

Yeah, you guys are close, but not quite...Chester wrote it after his wife divorced him. So yes, it's about being alone on valentines day.

This song is about how he/she lost their love one by death and now the day is valentine and he/she didn't think it would be so lonely and sad on valentines day with out their love one...

"and the ground below grew colder as they put you down inside"Meaning that that was day when they buried he/she...
and the love one is describing how sad and depressing that song was

I think this song is a very sad one, it is about someone losing their love one right before valentine's day.that suppose to be the most romantic and happiest day of the year. It's a very hard song for me to listen to because of my past experience.

Without knowing anything, I don't think that it it about being left on 'The Valentines Day', but just about being left.
And in my mind, it doesn't have to be a boy/girl-friend or wife/husband, it can also be a very good friend if you go deeper into the lyrics.
But of course, he sings "I never knew what it was like to be alone on a Valentines Day."

So basically, I think this song is about Chester and how when his wife divorced him...she became dead to him

maybe this song is about death. ´and the ground below grew colder as they put you down inside´,maybe it´s about a person who lost the one he loves and on the valentine´s day all the memories come back in his mind. It´s cold and he is alone. he needs someone. maybe he thought it wouldn´t hurt anymore, but suddenly he realises: she is gone!

I thought the song was more about how he had lost someone he had really cared about, but everyone blamed it on him, so he felt all alone.
