This song is by far my favourite. This song spews pure irony. I believe this song was written by Manson to show that our society has become mindless and no longer cares for meanings in life, songs, or thought itself. Everything has become the same meaningless babble of words, no one seems to take note at the meanings, or thought put into these words, but just if it happens to be catchy.
Therefore, irony comes into play, for the song is about those that listen to mindless babble of words because of it's catchy tune and pile, of which seems, meaningless words.
"Babble babble bitch bitch
Rebel rebel party party
Sex sex sex and don't forget the "violence"
Blah blah blah got your lovey-dovey sad-and-lonely"
No one seems to take note of the meanings in these words said, just that they are a catchy tune to sing along with. But these words have become the speech of society. No longer meaningful, or useful in anyways, just all the same. The same meaningless words, no one understands, and yet:
"Do we get it? No.
Do we want it? Yeah"
Exactly like the song, song itself, most do not even take the two seconds it takes to listen to the meaning of the words. Showing society’s stupidity to not even take the time to think, but merely pay attention to the same, repeated, words that interest them from another. But thing song can be used in all of society’s actions.
Because I know Manson is very political about his songs, he was probably referring to the political situation, people don’t care about the meaning behind what a person says, or thinks, about truth and lies coming from politicians. If what they say sounds alluring to one’s self, they go with it. Everything being said is becoming nothing more than a pile of meaningless words jammed together, used only for the purpose to entertaining a crowd.
