Hey there. A lot of people have requested this so I thought I'd give it shot. This song is about child abuse. Look at the lyrics. She walks to school with a lunch she packed shows that she is responsible for herself. Wearing the same dress she wore yesterday says that no one cares enough to give her clean clothing. She hides the bruises with the linen and lace shows that she is scared to say what is happening to her. The teacher wonders but she doesn't ask it's hard to see the pain behind the mask says that people do wonder but the girl seems happy enough so they don't really want to ask. Bearing the burden of a secret storm sometimes she wishes she was never born says that she is in danger and knows it but doesn't want to anything about it out of fear.
The chorus is really great. It says through the wind and the rain she stands hard as a stone in a world that she can't rise above. This relates to the concrete part in that she stands hard as a stone and also to the angel part in she can't rise above. An angel with broken wings possibly? But her dreams give her wings and she flies to a place where she's loved says that although all these awful things are happening to her she still dreams of a better place and eventually she will leave this hellhole and go where she is loved i.e. Heaven :-)
The third verse is somebody cries in the middle of the night the neighbours hear but they turn out the light. This says that on the one time she does cry out for help is the one time when people metaphorically cross the road and ignore it. Out of sight, out of mind. I think this is terrible. A fragile soul caught in the hands of fate, when morning comes it'll be too late. This means that she has no escape and by morning it will be too late to help because she will have already moved on.

The last verse is very emotional and it says a statue stands in a shaded place and angel girl with an upturned face. It is too late. She has died. This describes her grave. Her name is written on a polished rock, a broken heart that the world forgot means that the only memory of her is a gravestone but it doesn't matter anyway because the world has already forgotten her. I hope this helps you to understand this truly amazing song. If you wish to examine it further you can probably find the video online somewhere. It is a truly inspirational song and deserves every bit of praise it gets. Thank you for reading this.

The song is about a little girl who is being beaten and neglected by her parents. People are suspicious but they don't say anything or when neighbors hear they ignore it. Then one night they end up killing her.

It talks about her strength to keep going when she could.

Okay so everyone is doing this so I think that I'll give it a try.I think that this song is about a little girl who is neglected by her parents and is abused by them and one night she cries but the neighbors don't care they just turn out the lights.

But then one day she dies from all the hurt and anger built up inside and all that is remembered of her is a polished rock.If any of you want to here this song just go on the Internet I'm sure you'll find it and if you don't well keep searching I'm sure you'll find something.Thank you for reading this.

I absolutely love this song. It's about abuse of the little girl. She has several marks on her body and she covers them with long sleeves. Teachers I think now and days don't want to get involved in family problems. But this little girl is lonely and crying out for help but it never comes. In the end, she dies and goes up to heaven the place she belongs. No worries and no fear.

This song is a true story. It was her niece and she wrote a song for the poor girl her mother and father split one day and the her mum started abusing her and she died one day this song was in her remembrance.

This song is about child abuse and the boy who befriends her in the beginning of this song is an angel who was a child abuse victim. At the end of the song, when the little girl dies there are only a few people at her funeral, including her 'angel'. when she also appears as an angel the both go and hang out with all of the other children, who are also all victims of child abuse.

Love,
Ducky

This song is so sad. i could listen to it ovre and over again. To me this song is about a little girl whos father is not there. Her mother Dosent care about her. She just wants someone to love her and to care for her. But she is scared to let anyone else in. In the video there is a little boy. (but really he is an angle). That is the only friend in the world that she has. In my opion the mama needs to be put in a big padded room with a straight jacket..But thats only my opion.

well the little girl is abused by her mom but she never tells anybody. She cries for help one time but no one comes. She gets a friend and they live next to each other and they talk from the windows, but the little girl's mom comes and starts beating her for no reason. The boy sits there and watches so I think at the end he is an angel. Some Do. It's too late at the end and all the people have to remember her by is a staue of an angel. The good thing is that the boy brings the little girl to where she is loved like she wanted. At the end it says stop CHILD ABUSE! And We Should.
