Wrote this song when the music industry wanted him to change in order to play his music.

Mika is actually his real name. It is really spelled with a c as in mica but everyone kept pronouncing it wrong so he changed it to a k.

This so is about how the music industry tried to change Mika so he would fit their mould and Mika felt as though no matter what they wanted from him, it just wasn't the real him. He didn't want to change for them so he stayed himself.

Aside from the actual motive behind it, to me it means that someone won't accept him but he's versatile and can change but he doesn't want to be liked for his new way of being (arg did that even make sense??)

Mika acutally wrote this song after a song he wrote was declined my a record company. He wrote it when he was furious, so its a wonder how it turned out so happy. He is saying that people give up on him and his music without even challenging him to change and improve. Thats what all the questions at the beginning are asking.

Mika was bullied as a child in school, and he is sending a message to kids to stay strong and not show weakness against bullies.

I think that he is saying that he will not change just so a few people like him when there could be a lot more who likes him as he is.
