Didn't like my last interpretation? Then I'll elaborate. Basically, I believe it is some kind of suicide pact because of his constant refernces to 'bullets' throughout the song. Despite the fact that he continues to refer to his love for the girl, this is almost overshadowed by his obsession with death imagery. The line 'like scarecrows that fuel this flame' gives me the image of two effigies burning. Obviously, death comes into this in a big way, but also the fire represents a kind of blazing glory, as though death would bring them glory, fuelling the flame so to speak suggests that due to their actions, they will be remembered forever. Also 'As lead rains will pass on through our phantoms' suggests that the two will soon become ghosts. He is either psychic, capable of coming up with beautiful poetry while facing death or planning their death. I tend to think the latter. The music also brings the image os a suicide pact. It rages with a furious crashing as he screeches 'Until the end of..' and then mellows into a gentle rhythm. This appears to be acceptance, the peace that death brings. 'All we are is bullets' suggests that people look back and remember the method of death and not who they were. I believe that the final instrumental piece is the flashback as the two lay dying. 'I mean this forever' is the last thing he says, because to him, his love for her was the most important thing of all. I don't prescribe to the Bonnie and Clyde theory persay, purely because knowing MCR there would have been a few references to robbing people and shooting them through the head or something. Feel free to correct me on that, but I doubt our Gerard could have resisted writing something like that. Also, I think that, like 'Revenge' the album follows a story. All of them have shown a turbulent relationship ('You can cry all you want to / I don't care how much', 'I dragged her down, I put her out''And I wish you away') but ultimately a loving one ('Stand up fucking tall....take my fucking hand....and never be afraid again' 'Imaginary wedding gown that you can't wear in front of me'). This song is the culmination of that. The only way they can be happy together is in death

You guys are not wrong at all. It's how you interpret it yourself, and what it means to you, not who's right and who's wrong. But if you really want to know...The song is an apology to his girlfriend, after the other songs on the album were about killing his girlfriend. Either way, no one is technically wrong, as long as it is what you are going to stick with. So yeah. Disenchanted

If does fit in with the second cd but you ahve to remeber the second cd has hit mainstream and the first is still underground people don't get it so in truth we may all be wrong... The story presented in these lyrics is a make-shift of bonnine and clyde how they go off togetehr in a hail of bullets and such.

I personally think that some of you guys are right. It seems to me like it's about a relationship that's had it's ons and offs and that he's begging and trying to make her understand that he would do anything for her and that she means everything to him. Basically what you all have said.

I agree with most of you. But this is by far my favorite song on this particular CD. I think that MCR not only wants to tell you a story. But also want you to interpret what you think and be able to relate to the song some how.

that song is so sweet. all that stuff about dying for her that is just... anyways I don't think it's about suicide or anything just about him being willing to die for his girlfriend

Well, while reading the inside cover thing of this album, at the end of who Gerard wanted to thank he said "I'm sorry K for writing all these songs about killing you. Demolition Lovers hopefully makes up for it" Or something like that. Wish I was K. I've always thought Gerard is an amazing person.

Demolition Loves is about a man and a woman who love each other so much. They can't let go. Til in the end when they die together but they still have their love with them. And I think that the guy is saying that it's ok that he's dying with her cause they'll be together.

This song is about when Gerard wrote about his friend dying and stuff so he wrote a song for her that says that her really loves her.

I like the whole idea of the suicide pact remember that they get song ideas from newspapers, so that would work I think you all are stupid for correcting each other though if there was one 'known' meaning to the song, they're wouldn't be a discussion about it that's the beauty of songs the can mean whatever you want them to shotgunsinner

Its a Bonnie n Clyde story they are a couple who have committed crime together n for there sins they are gunned down in the desert. He speaks of the love they share even as they r dying "And in this pool of blood - I see your eyes - and as we're touching hands"

At first glance people jump to the obvious interpretation of, "it's about Bonnie and Clyde". In one way this is true, but not. Gerard has said that the song is about his girlfriend, but "Bullets" was also the prelude, so to speak, to "Revenge". This song is sort of something of a taste of the story that is later elaborated on in "Revenge" and Gerard has never really given the 401 on this song. A lot of MCR's songs are open to personal interpretation and I think they did this for their fan's pure enjoyment. Trying to find the exact answer to this song is impossible because there is no 'exact answer', or 'exact interpretation'. I have tried to put the so called 'story line' of all the MCR albums together and there is no actual story! It's more like someone has taken a story and torn out hundreds of pages and left about thirty pages of the story in the book. You could only ever paint a vague understanding of the so called 'story' anyway. Gerard has said himself that, "it's sort of like a movie that never happened". All authentic interpretations are right because there isn't really one true interpretation. What is interesting are people's different interpretations. I believe this is what makes the stories and meanings of the songs so mysterious and interesting. So keep digging deeper and keep discovering different interpretations. I could think of about twenty already. Whatever you like then that's what it is :D That's what the music is about.

I think this song is about two lovers who can't stand others' disapproval anymore and will do anything to be happy together. even if it means running away together. I can relate because my girlfriend lives in east Texas and I live in Arizona and we vowed that we'll run away to somewhere like Vegas and get married. I can relate to this song because I would do anything for her. Anything.

This is to the guy with the 2nd comment... you do know that the album is called 'i brought you my bullets, you brought me your love' right... That's probably why they use the word 'bullets' throughout the song...

My chemical romance rocks! if you don't believe me, then look at all the other bands on the site... They don't have nearly as many interpretations as mcr... That's because mcr rocks and the other bands suck... except for the used, they are pretty good too but mcr is better...

If you read other interviews, Gerard says that it's a Bonnie and Clyde story... =] Just for those people who think it's not.

Most of you all have it. Bullets ends with this song were the guy and the girl die together, getting shot down. He tells her that his love for her is forever and that he truly means it. Then revenge picks up where that song left off. You know, the guy finds out the girl is dead and he isn't.... I think, and the devil says, "Look. Bring me the souls of a thousand dead corpses and I will return your girlfriend to you."And revenge is the story of how the man is killing people to get his girlfriend back. Look, this is just how I think it goes. So don't bite my head off if it's wrong.

I believe he's telling the girl how much he loves her,he would do anything,no matter what she wants.

Hand in mine, into your icy blues And then I'd say to you we could take to the highway (The highway could mean he's talking about death he want to die with her) With this trunk of ammunition too I'd end my days with you in a hail of bullets (hes still talking about the murder) I'm trying, I'm trying To let you know just how much you mean to me (hes doing this because he wants to prpove to her and others thaht he loves her) And after all the things we put each other through and (The last sentence Either mean they had hard times in their relathionship maybe they cheated on each other or they were in an on again off again relathionship) I would drive on to the end with you (Hes promising her long lasting love again if they die) A liquor store or two keeps the gas tank full (This means they thought they can go on like this but he doesnt) And I feel like there's nothing left to do. But prove myself to you and we'll keep it running (Teir relathionship is dying so the only thing he can do is die so thhey can be toghter no matter what and that can work out). But this time, I mean it (This means he promised her this before) I'll let you know just how much you mean to me (This means again that he wasnt seriuos before sohe asked her to die before but this time he's seriuos) As snow falls on desert sky Until the end of everything (this mean tey're gonna be said if they ont do this) I'm trying, I'm trying To let you know how much you mean (she isn't believeing him at Im trying you here to voice sorta getting angry like how you react when someone isn't believeing you or either she dosnt understand what he's saying you make that voice too he's kinda pissed that she never understands him) As days fade, and nights grow And we go cold Until the end, until this pool of blood Until this, I mean this, I mean this Until the end of... (all this means that they'll brake up if they don't die) I'm trying, I'm trying To let you know how much you mean As days fade, and nights grow And we go cold (hes most propably pointing a gun at her now and he's scared too. "as days... go cold" lal that means that their relathionship is fading and he's saying this during this time) But this time, we'll show them We'll show them all how much we mean As snow falls on desert sky Until the end of every... (here he's saying that if they kill eachtoher they prove that theirs love and he trys to kill her when the music stops suddenly that's when he shoots her) (he comes to his senses slowly) All we are, all we are Is bullets I mean this [x4] (now he's realizing there wasnt any love between them and now they are nothing but bullets they are going to die without expierancing anything they were just waste of time to anyone, the world they most probably don't have any loved ones) As lead rains, will pass on through our phantoms Forever, forever Like scarecrows that fuel this flame we're burning Forever, and ever (they mad at each other or they are dying slowly he's obiously regrading this by saying forever ) Know how much I want to show you you're the only one ("see how much I wanted to show you... That I loved you") Like a bed of roses there's a dozen reasons in this gun (she asks why he killed her and he sayd there's a lot of reasons why) And as we're falling down, and in this pool of blood And as we're touching hands, and as we're falling down And in this pool of blood, and as we're falling down I'll see your eyes, and in this pool of blood I'll meet your eyes, I mean this forever (This means they arent dead yet the bullet didn't kill them because he's still in the pool of blood he didn't go to heaven or hell w/e) 1 2 Next Page >
