the song is about a teenage girl that has got pregnant and her parents are not supporting her 'if you where here id never have a fear'. They are mad at her because people don't think her and her boyfriend will manage with a baby 'some mite say we are made from the sharpest things you'd say we are young and we don't care'. and the song is defentaly about a girl because it is actually 'dont I look pretty walking down the street in the best dam dress I own and not tux'

I agree that it is about teenage pregnancy, but I also think it's about not taking shit from anybody thinking your better than someone else or someone is better than you

Sorry, I know this song is actually about teenage pregnancy because I've heard Gerard say it, but I really don't see how. none of the lyrics scream teenage pregnancy to me...oh well.

Well you know how somebody [Lets call this person bob] might do something [Lets say sing a song] to his best ability, and it sounds good but it could sound better, so even though bob gave it his best effort, he tells people he didn't try, so people think his singing skill is really good when it is just average
I think it is like that

And she thinks she looks pretty walking down the street in what she wants people to think is just her casual wear [Cause that's what you would wear walking down the street], when really it is the best dress she owns
So like she wants people to think her casual wear is awsome so her best clothes most be even more good
When really she is just showing off

Just because the lyrics don't SCREAM teen pregnancy to you,
doesn't mean that it has nothing to do with it.

its called a metaphor.
basically all their songs revolve around
a metaphor that could be understood easily without
coming out and saying blanky: THIS IS ABOUT TEEN PREGNANCY,

- Ephedrine is a diet pill that when taken in large amouts whilst pregnant can kill your unborn child. This shows that the young girl is scared about being pregnant and wants it to go away, it also suggests that she is taking these diet pills to stay thin so she can "forget" that she is pregnant.

"Well I'm a total wreck and almost everyday
Like the fireiing squad or the mess you made"

-This is aimed at the boyfriend who got her pregnant. She is very scared and confused and angry. It was not just her fault as it was him who got her into this mess in the first place.

"Well I don't look pretty walking down the street
In the best damn dress I own?"

- Her faveorite dress doesn't fit her anymore and this makes her feel unattractive and not very pretty due to her pysical condition.

"We are young and we don't car
Your dreams and your hopeless hair

- They are too young to have a child. They have lost all their dreams. When you are that young, you should not have to worry about raising a child. You should only have small, petty things like your hair to worry about.

- I think that maybe the boyfriend has left her when she needs him most. He has left so he can live his life, leaving her alone and scared. She misses him and wants him to come back. I think she is also very angry at him for leaving her in this state and wonders if he ever even cared about her-

The song is definitely about teen pregnancy (Gerard said so himself)
"this is how we like to do it in the murder scene" refers to how the girl got pregnant.
the chorus means that the boy was having trouble dealing with his girlfriends pregnancy so she told him to "go on live your life.but ill miss you more than I did yesterday"
"well I'm a total wreck/and almost every day/like the firing squad/or the mess you made/well don't I look pretty walking down the street/in the best damn tux I own"
that means that the girlfriend is a wreck about her baby, and she's accusing her boyfriend of "the mess you made."
the tux part is about how they both dream of a wedding that they can't have."well don't I look pretty walking down the street" is the girlfriend, and "the best damn tux I own" is the boyfriend.it could also be irony, that the girl thinks she looks ugly walking around looking pregnant.
in the end, Gerard says "what'd you call me?/well there's no way I'm kissing that guy!" its probably referring to how bitter their relationship grew after the baby, and how he says mean things about her and how she won't kiss him.

MCR are poets and it shows in this particular song because it leaves you wondering and looking at the other comments I believe many of you are wondering so this is what I think it means , I heard from Gerard's mouth that it was about a pregnancy of a teenage girl but I really don't know how but one thing I think is clear is that the song is definitely about young people and their troubles and how elders try to control what you think

You wouldn't understand how this is about teenage pregnancy unless you had known someone who went through it.
