Headfirst for Halos Lyrics
I can't begin to let you know just what I'm feeling
And now the red ones make me fly
And the blue ones help me fall
And I think I'll blow my brains against the ceiling
And as...

This song is the song that saved my life - "Just think happy thoughts And we'll fly home We'll fly home You and I, I We'll fly home" Theese were the lyrics that made me think of Gerard flying me out of my situation at the time. I saught counselling because of this song. It means the world to me.

this song is about suicide, well more like not doing suicide.its mainly suicide with a gun, and at the end 'think happy thoughts, think happy thoughts... etc.' is about keeping yourself somewhat happy and uplifted, but 'think ha- WOO!' translaion of 'WOO'- bang your dead

Gerard once addressed this song's meaning in an interview (I think... somewhere else if it wasn't that). He explained that in the early years, the band memebers all did lots of crazy drugs, Frankie especially. The lyrics to this song are based off of Frankie being high one night and rambling about how he was going to kill himself. If I remember correctly, I think it was because of some girl that had rejected him, but please don't take my word on that.

It's about suicide really red ones help me fly(uppers) and the blue ones help me fall(downers) and ill blow my brains against the ceiling (putting the gun in your mouth and pulling the trigger) just think happy thoughts as we fly home (apparently he's going to heaven)

To me it's about drugs & suicide.
"Let's go back to the middle of the day, that starts it all." --- Going back to the beginning of something, possibly an addiction?
"The red ones make me fly, and the blue ones help me fall." --- Drugs.
"I think I'll blow my brains against the ceiling." --- Obviously suicide.
"Just think happy thoughts & we'll fly home." --- Leaving to a better place. I think this has some correlation with the afterlife. -

when i first heard this song, it sounded like a drug addiction. i still think that, but now i think it's about gerard's life. red ones and blue ones are pills he took. they were depressants and anti-depressants. the think happy thoughts means he's struggeling with the everyday stress and bad events and trying to keep going by thinking about good times. as gerard said, this song it the most important one on the record, and it really is if you think about it.

Well this song is about Gerards struggles and how he was on pills to controll his suicidal and depressive thoughts. Gerard used to take in his worse state blue pills as an anti-depressant, these of course being very powerfull would make him feel ontop of the world and almost flying. And the red pills where his kind of sedative to make him sleep, as I think it was he was either so hyped from the blue pill he couldnt sleep or stress was getting to him, these would make him 'fall'.
The reference to the pixie dust is becase when gerard was younger he played in the peter pan production at him school, and it reminded him so much on how he felt he grew up too quickly, and whished he had more time to be a child like peter pan as he is a child forever. -

I Think this song is about having too much pressure and wanting to kill yourself. "Lets go back to the day that starts it all" I think means "think back to the day I started to be suicidal." and "we'll fly home, you and i-" means "we will die together" And the part "Think happy thoughts" is him calming himself down at a point in which he is ready to kill himself. and the last one "think happ-whoo" is when he finally pulls the trigger and it is all over. and I also know from watching life on the murder scene that this song wasn't supposed to make it onto the album because Gerard wrote it in a deep depression or something like that

Well, I would like to credit the info of this interpetation to my.. School. O.O We had an officer come in and explain about how stimulants and tranquiliazers are balanced out.
This song definetely has to do with suicide, and drug abuse.
Hence;
"These red ones make me fly,
And the blue ones help me fall."
Red is referring to the stimulant, which excites the body, and makes it 'fly.' Blue is referring to the tranquilizer whish mellows out and slows down the body, and basically brings it down from a high. Stimulants and tranqulizers are often taken in together. Stimulant first, and then the tranquilizer to calm you down.
The line:
"And I think I'll blow my brains against the ceiling."
Is probably referring to suicide via a gun.
Well, that's my look on it! -

Feel happy while reading about My Chem saving that many guys from suicide as if they were the last (and truly: only) bloody thing in this world that's no suicidal cause.
Headfirst for Halos is obviously about suicide. The intro sends out the most significant message (confusion!).
Pls don't mind but: "think happy thoughts" sounds ironic to me. -

Headfirst for halos is clearly about drug use between depressants and antidepressants.
"the red ones make me fly, and the blue ones help me fall."
it's also about suicide as the singer is thinking about getting out of it by killing himself.
"and I think I'll blow my brains against the ceiling."
"just think happy thoughts" is saying to think of things to save yourself from the drugs and suicide. -

“the red ones make me fly and the blue ones help me fallâ€
He’s taking anti depressants or drugs to feel better

This song was written by Gerard when he was very depressed and under the influence of a lot of drugs and feeling suicidal, basically it's about as Gerard said "don't fucking do it"

MCR wrote this song for the people out there that are so down and depressed that they feel they need to kill themselves, they wrote it to try and make these people happier, hence the upbeat tempo of the song.
They sing about blue and red pills, which are both placebo pills but with different effects “these red ones make me fly” these have a stimulant effect, which would temporarily make the person happy, then “the blue ones help me fall” these have a depressant effect, so after taking these comes the lyric “I think I’ll blow my brain against the ceiling” because the person is now depressed again.
Then they sing “just think happy thoughts” they want people to think about all the good things in their life, and not just the bad, what they’ll be leaving behind if they go through with it. -

yes, this is about suicide. Although many think, "think happy thought" is literal. I think it traces to Peter Pan. He meant think happy thoughts and you'll fly away from your problems or to your home/haven. I think he's just saying think happy thought and you'll feel okay again or something like that.
