My idea is Gerard might've want to show his true sexuality in the song. Think of it as someone in prison AND the consequence of it getting "out of the cell." Got my point?

There is a sense of fear that something that makes him different would ruin his personality if it is revealed.

Nevertheless, whatever makes him different should be respected. Look on what his "POSITIVE" side. The more you look into his abnormality will give you a higher chance of ruining his personality...

heyy Big Day Out fella, I think most people on here are American. But us Aussies should stick together.
I went to the MCR concert in Brisbane just after BDO [I wanted to go to BDO but I was in Adelaide]. They are awesome live. I have Ray Toro's towel. He threw it into the crowd :P and one of my friends has one of the drum sticks thrown out. But like 100 were thrown out during the 2 Brisbane concerts.
But I'm coolest coz I have Ray's towel.

Recently writer/music journalist Andy Greenwald said in his myspace blog that Gerard told him this song was partially about a "crazy" night they spent in a Chicago hotel along with bert mccraken.

okay well there are two meanings the first is prison and people getting raped in prison. But the other one is him "experimenting" with homosexuality. The fact is he never dated Bert from The Used. He had a girlfriend. But they broke up last year. They had been dating for 6 years. But when he wrote the line "I am not afraid to keep on living, I am not afraid to walk this world alone" from Famous Last Words he realized that they needed to break up.
