'Too Bad' is about Chad's life: how his father walked out on him without a care, just calling every so often 'to make sure we're alive' But his father leaving him damaged Chad: 'But you weren't there/Right when I needed you the most'. The song to describe Chad's father trying to get in touch, but Chad ignores him, saying 'It's too bad/It's too late/It's so wrong/So long'AKA get lost.

True, this is about Chad's life just as most of his songs were about his childhood. If you watch the video they are dramatizing his childhood except the part on the car crash. The father calls them once and a while and by the song and the other songs I can see he had a great mother who had to put up with a lot of shit.
