This is written in the male’s point of view. His girlfriend had died and he can’t live without her.
In the first verse he is saying how much he misses her and he remembers intimate moments and it makes it harder for him to cope.
"trembling hands touch skin
It makes this harder
And the tears stream down my face"
"if we could only have this life for one more day
If we could only turn back time"
That bit is pretty obvious, he wants one more day with her.
In the chorus it says that he still loves her even though she is dead.
“i'll find the words to say
Before you leave me today"
He never told her that he loves her and now that she is dead he never can.
“don’t want to be without you,
My judgements clouded”
In the second verse he is already in such a state of depression that he is not thinking clearly and he wants to be with her.
This time in the chorus, the message that is conveyed is that he would do anything to be with her, even if it means dying himself.
In verse three he is have a flash back of the good times as he is committing suicide.

Playin' games in the street”
He is committing suicide by jumping of a roof of a building.
“there's a numb in my toes
Standing close to the edge”
Then he jumps and he thinks that he is doing the right thing as it means the pain will end.

In this chorus it talks about how he is re-joined with his girlfriend again in heaven.
Even though the chorus is the same, the meanings are different.

Moments is about a boy who wants to escape the thoughts that the girl he loves has killed herself, the only way he can get over her death is through death himself. The lyrics in the chorus are like a desperate plea from the guy to the girl he loves, wishing he could turn back the time and tell her he would be be her everything so she didn’t have to die: “You know I’ll be your life, Your voice, Your reason to be, My love, my heart, Is breathing for this, Moment in time, I’ll find the words to say, Before you leave me today.”
Then as this boy is so desperate and sad that he has lost the love of his life, he ends his life by jumping off a building, you can see the thoughts and memories that flash before his eyes before he jumps: “Flashing lights in my mind, Goin’ back to the time, Playin’ games in the street, Kickin’ balls with my feet. There’s a numb in my toes, Standing close to the edge, There’s a pile of my clothes, At the end of your bed. As I feel myself fall, Make a joke of it all.”
It really is an emotional song filled with desperation from the guy to be with the girl he loves again. Really wish Ed would perform it too so we could hear it by him. -

okay so there's a girl and a boy, obviously. the girl has died and her boyfriend can simply not exist without her there. he's dying without her from the pain. so he commits suicide, by jumping as we hear from zayns final part. however his decision is clouded and he admits he isn't thinking clearly, just trying to get away from the pain quickly, to be free from it

As many people have said this song is just about a girl dying that a boy really loved, but he never really got to tell her. The lyrics say that his judgement is clouded, and in his depression, he kills himself in order to be with her. This is such a sad song!

Personally I think that it's about obviously about and guy and a girl in love. But for some odd reason they just can't be together. For reasons such as parents, long distance, etc. and he doesn't want it to be that way. But I do completely understand where everyone who says the whole "death" thing is coming from. It could very well be that too. But I believe it can be any situation that you think it is because we all think of different scenarios and reasons. I luv u 1D!<3

I think it is about someone leaving and you don't want them to go. Where does it mention the person is dead. They are obviously alive when they sing the song. I mean, you don't lay in a bed with a dead body. This person is alive. Maybe their just leaving or they are breaking up.

This song is about a guy who tries to cope after his girlfriends death but realizes that he can't so he commits suicide. In Liam's part he is remembering times when he was with her and how much he loved her. Harry's part is him saying that if he had more time he would be her everything. That leads straight to the choruses where he says that he would do and be everything for her and his life is depending on the moment when he tells her he loves her but he's to late. Niall's part is when he realizes he cant live without her and he wants to be left alone so nothing can remind him of her. "My judgement's clouded like tonight's sky" is when he admits that he hasn't been thinking straight so his decision to kill himself may have been rushed. Louis's part is about how he didn't/couldn't tell anyone about his depression. Zayn's part is right before he jumps. He thinks about times in his life as it flashes by him. "There's a numb on my toes standing close to the edge" says that he kills him self by jumping off of something. As he falls he makes a joke of his life.

At Zayns solo he sings "Kicking the ball with my feet." he is going through his thoughts and memorize.
He says "The numb in my toes." he is jumping of a building or bridge going to kill himself thinking that he will meet up with his girlfriend in heaven. He says "As I begin to fall I make a joke of it all." he jumps and is happy he will see his love again. The end is them seeing each other in heaven. -

This comes from a boys perspective. Obviouslety it starts out with a boy and girl who are seriousley in love and the girl ends up committing suicide because she is in a great depression. And it's so hard for the boy to live without the girl he so loved and he goes into depression.

This means he basically is going into a dark room, shutting the door, and crying for the girl he loves. Wanting her with him. Right my his side.

Obviousley means he's trying to hide from the fact that he loved her and he wants her, so others won't feel back for him and want to help, because he thinks no one can help him now.
