Everyone needs someone in their life that they know they can count on, no matter what the situation. This song is about having someone who will always have you in their heart, through thick and thin, and who will watch over you for as long as they live.

To me, this song is someone telling someone else they love them and always will. But, they know that they can't always be there, even though they want to be. Somewhere along the road they can't be there and this person has to keep going and fighting and keep this love in their memory to help them on. And they will do the same. Always.
