I don't think it's about Tom, your thinking into it to much.

From my understanding a Lycanthrope is a person that turns into a werewolf, which in the song makes sense [when he says this second counts for the rest of your life].

I'm not saying its right but I've heard this interpretation before and it could be.

It sounds like it could be either. Mark already wrote Lillian and no it isn't about Tom, is it possible Lycanthrope is also about Tom? Perhaps.

Well, lycanthrope is the study of wolves, not werewolves just plain wolves so.. It could mean anything, it could be called that just to hide the fact its about tom, but most likely it has a hidden meaning, that they didnt want us to know, but to guess about..
