What does Rammstein mean ?

Actually the original source is "Ramstein" which is a city in Germany with an airport. Here a tragic disaster took place in 1988 as during an Airshow a plane crashed into a crowd of people and 70 were killed. The horror was very close to the public because many people were filming the airshow and so for days and weeks the pictures and sounds of screaming people running for their lives and shouting for their dependants were on TV. The band picked up this disaster and made a song from it:

Rammstein - Fleischgeruch in der Luft
rammstein...ein Kind stirbt
rammstein...die Sonne scheint
rammstein...ein Flammenmeer
rammstein...Blut gerinnt auf dem Asphalt
rammstein...Mütter schreien
rammstein...die Sonne scheint

Rammstein...A burning man
Smell of meat in the air
A child dies
The sun is shining

A sheet of flames
Blood congeals on the asphalt
Mothers screaming
The sun is shining

The name itself is a play of words.
"rammen" means "to ram"
"Stein" means "stone"
In german words can easily be combined to one word, so "Rammstein" means "ramming stone" but also refers to "Ramstein", the name of the disaster city, which literally has nothing to do with a "ramming stone", we don't name our cities like that...
"Ramming stone" is probably supposed to express a certain achaic power...

I think, if you all would rather argue over who is a fan of who, and who is a retard, we should at least argue so as not to argue over and disgrace rammstein's place. linkin park needs to learn, but not all that person's facts are wrong totally. So everyone grow up about it. leave the interpretations to those who actually have something to say. also, check your facts before you print them on the internet. for fuck's sake. anyhow, this song seems to be an interpretation of the airshow disaster, yes.
