OMG, duh, it is about a girl that has cancer. She is afraid that she won't get a date because she is bald, but then she does and her boyfriend doesn't care and to show that he shaves his head. Very sad!

I think it is about a girl who discovers that she has cancer. And sshe thinks that she won't get a date to the prom becuase she is bald. Then he boyfriend comes to take her to the prom and he shaved his head to make her comfortable. And she discovers that he is her true love

This song makes me cry. She gets cancer and is always scared, when prom comes she doesn't think a bald girl will get a date, but her true love shaves his head to make her feel good and she isn't scared.

I think all the other peoples meaning are only a little right I think it is also about finding comfort and learning that the people that love you (true friends, boy/girl friends and family ) won't judge you just because you are bald (have a problem, you not the most beautiful, or because you act differently, etc.)

My friends always ask me why do you want to listen to such a sad song, but this song gives me comfort.

This song is based on a young girl figurin' out she has cancer. Sadly, she thinks her boyfriend wouldn't want to take her to prom. She loses her hair and feels that her boyfriend won't want to take her anymore. Then suddenly he shows up and all she touches on his head is skin. This song is great, and really good.<3

A girl afraid that because of what she endures and is visibly transformed by will prevent her from being accepted by those that said or acted like they accepted her in the past finds that there are people that will be there to help her get through the tough times, not out of pity or to fill their egos with good deeds or take advantage of her 'frail state', but because they care and will always accept her because it brings them joy just to know that she is alive

Skin has a second song title, "Sarabeth" the reason for this title is because of the actual reason for this song, it's about a young girl from Berea, Kentucky named Sara Elizabeth Kennedy. She was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma (cancer of the connective tissue) at age 17, and died 10 months after. In the song, they mention prom, but in real-life it was homecoming, as Sara was Homecoming Queen, despite her cancer and chemo sessions...This song is a true story that I hope will touch everyone who listens to it, and reads this interpretation. -Zero
