I believe that this song is being sung to the boyfriend of a young and beautiful woman. He beats her and flirts with other women in front of her. Reba sings that because of what he did to this girl (Kelly Klarkson) and because it scared her so much she thinks scary things as she goes outside of her home. when Kelly is singing she is saying how she is always scared at home even, and she always will be.
