This song was written about Sinead O'conner.

"The stare she bares have cut me" - the expression he got when he told her how he felt.
"My eyes could never never never keep their cool"- he couldn't hide his feelings.
"My face could never show what is not real"
"I showed her and i told her how she struck me but im fucked up now"-he confessed his love to her and got blown off.
"Now shes gone yes shes gone away"-sinnead left and told anthony not to look for her or contact her.

If you want the cold hard facts, try reading Anthony's autobiography, Scar Tissue. It's a great book.

This song is about a girl he fell love with and told her and she wanted nothing to do with him afterwards hence "I could of lied" like he could of just not told her and he would still be talking to her.

It's a beautiful song, it made me cry.

This song was written right after Sinead O'connor called anthony and said I'm moving out of Los Angeles tomorrow, and I don't want you to call me or come by before I leave. 'it went from , "cant wait to see you again" to " Don't call and don't come by."-scar tissue
Anthony was devastated and wrote this song after this rough time.
