I believe this song ties closley to cheating or betraying a friend, he is keeping his lie because he is trying to protect the person or people from getting hurt yet its eating away at his conscience

Here I believe he is talking to himself how his deception is his own parasite or in other words his lie is eating away at him slowly!! also he says "there's so much more then me" which I believe means that by him trying to protect others its just in fact protecting himself and that he needs to come clean and deal with consequences.

I appologize if I reapeated my self but I believe he is trying to portray the same message throught the song just in different words in different verses.

To me, this song is about betrayal, as stated above. I think that the lyrics are a good choice for the type of song that Shaun writes. "If I gave you the truth, would it keep you alive?" this is an interpretation of how he could be lying to you and trying to protect you at the same time without knowing it.
The chorous-
"I'm beaten down again, I belong to them

-means that eventually later on he will find out he has lied and will ultimately pay the price for what he did.

Good job Seether!!!! on a good lyrical song.
