I think this song is all about how he thinks he's a coward, and how he tries to be someone he isn't and how he wants to change all of it. And to appriciate little things in life. Then he goes on with how he wants someone to kill him becuase he doesn't want to hurt anyone anymore, and he wants to get rid of his pain.

This song is about how he is a fake. He lies so no one can get to close to him. That's where "this mask of glass is what I choose to wear/so I won't ever have the need to bare/the total truth to anyone but me" comes in.

So you can fake everything you are, because you can always hide in a lie and pretend your everything that your not, and that you show you care, but you really don’t, your just selfish, and your after everything you wanted to be, but you can keep making promises to yourself about things that you want to change, but something will always inhibit me from making a change to those I pretend to care about, and I can fake life by going with the flow but I live my live through the night and the influence of substances and won’t let the past be past, but I can never keep the ghost from holding the rope around my neck, so I’m hopeless
