lyrics can be taken any way you want them to be taken.
ie. the song can be related to prejudice and discriminiation. "The disadvantage is i never new the plan." That excerpt can be taken as people that are narrow minded see certain other people as lower. Thus giving them a "disadvantage".The "Pulse of the Maggots", as in the title itself, can be taken as society's vigor to eliminate discrimination.
but the 1st guy's does sound gd

definitely about the band's unity. They truly are the pulse of the maggots. They are what keeps our hearts beating, or the pulses of the maggots. Interesting comparison, huh? =P

I think this song is about bands selling out ''And the bastards you know, are the heros you hate''
,slipknot is only held together by the fans ''we are the pulse of the maggots'' they're about the fans and music they would never sell out the song has nothing to do with the government

The song for the fans, letting them know the band still cares and will never be so wrapped in themselves that they ignore the fans. Just basically the anthem for the third cd, a song dedicated to us once again basically saying even though they were gone for a while...they are still there and they are back and they are still pulling for all the fans out there, and no matter what they always will be there for us.

What >I< think this song is about is that we are all maggots, followers of SlipKnoT, and if we all stick together, we won't die; ie. They won't split up. This was partly a song for us-The Maggots, but it could also have a billion different meanings in there. It also talks about how they will fight for us and we should fight for them as well quote"I fight for the ones who can't fight, and if I lose, then at least I tried!!"

It's saying that they fight the fuckers of this world the mother fuckers that copy everyone else and bully people who are different . But they don't literally fight them they fight them through there music there fighting for maggots like us . So it's pretty much saying we fight for our fans and we don't give a shit what you think of us

This song has not just one theme but multiple themes and people can view songs different ways. this song is mainly about being against reglion, being against government, and not letting anyone else tell you what to do or control what you. its about standing up for what you believe and following your dreams. read between the lines and you can find that out for yourself. but thats just one persons opinion. you can think whatever you want.

I think this song means to forget everything that doesn't matter. all this shit like government and religion is just a waste of time. we shouldn't have to listen to anyone or follow their rules. we shouldn't have to prove ourself to anyone. also their vocals coming from Corey Taylor mean like sticking together with the fans this song is like bringing the fans into the band. Having them get on the stage and scream an yell and rebel. listening to this song makes me want to run around screaming in peoples faces "WE WONT DIE".
