This is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever herd. It has so many different meanings in it but this is what I think.

Its more about a girl who doesn't exist, it seems to be more of a dream of a girl rather than a physical one. Saying that this is what I want, its not real she doesn't exist. Or love with a woman that only you have felt she never gave back.

Correy talks about his obsession with her sexually and lovingly, how she is the center of his life and no one else matters. Many people do say that this woman could of been a prostitute or stripper "She seems dressed in all the rings, Of past fatalities" some hookers where bracelets to show how many times they have had sex, but for the listener it could be whom ever. Its also shows that this girl in particular has been with many other men even if she isn't a hooker. "Carve my name in my face, to recognize, Such a pheromone cult to terrorize"-She torments him playing with his mind, he feels she wouldn't even recognize him he is so little to her. The lyrics in the chorus are "I won't let this build up inside of me" cause thinking and dwelling on her is making him crazy and he wants to move on but can't cause he is so obsessed. All of this is for nothing thou in the climax after the second chorus when he screams it.

"She isn't real, I can't make her real"- Saying that I will be alone for ever there is no one out there for me. That this love wasnt real and won't be.

It has been released in a statement (not sure who by I'm assuming Shawn or Corey) that this song is a Stalkers Love Song. Not sure how that works, but yeah.

blackgoat.com read it there

I think this song is a very frustrated song about the battle of one's obsession with someone they can't have and its killing them on the inside and if it continues they don't know what they'll do.

I think this song refers to the fact that it is very hard to find true love, and that one must always compromise their opinions and beliefs to make a relationship work, the perfect one can't exist, and it is an illusion that the one you are with is perfect, I gotta say I disagree, but its a cool song nonetheless.

This song is about recalling the initial feelings for that person you thought was the "one." It's about the enrapture and putting to words the power another person can have over you... How a single person can make you feel the entire spectrum of emotion and sometimes it's as if there is no way out.

i think this song is about how he wants love but he's only around groupies how do the dirty deed and split. i also thought it might be about a guy who was in love with a girl who had multiple personalities and the one he loved was not who she actually was

It's about a dream of a perfect girl. Then a realization of her not being real.

Have you guys seen the video of this song. The girl is trapped in a world where everything is moving so fast that she is unable to keep up with it virtually everything is beyond her grasp It is as if she doesn't exist...she does however nurture a butterfly and sets it free but for a very sinister reason At the end of the song the butterfly stops fluttering and dies in her hands and the girl smiles she finally gets to Keep something... CREEPY!!!!!!!!!!!

Corey said in an interview with songfacts.com that vermillion is about the building of relationship problems. Its all the bullshit you put up with and vermillion pt.2 is about the fall of it. what is left after the harshness and what is left of you.
