Its not about anyone specific. It's just stating that Hollywood is an awful place because it changes people into something they're really not. All the corporate Scumbags, and mainstream companies don't help with this at all.

I think that they arent talking about another person, they are speaking of their own experience. And when they say Hollywood, it doesn't just pertain to the city itself, but it talks of fame and fortune in general and how it is corrupt. They are saying how everyone in hollywood is fake and dishonest. Also when they say,"They find you, two time you, say you're the best they've ever seen," meaning how people said they were the best they've ever seen but then two time them.

this song is about the evils of hollywood. It's about how kids come to hollywood to be rockstars and end up working stocking cds at a cd store, and women who come to be actresses and models and end up being in porno. examples are "you should have never gone to hollywood", "say you're the best they've ever seen, you should have never trusted hollywood."

it's basically darons disgust for hollywood and some of the people who live there. "all you maggots, smoking fags on Santa Monica Blvd."

Yeah, I saw that video, it's on youtube.Com I think. Daron has really come along as a musician and songwriter on the two albums, well they all have actually.
Lost in hollywood is about daron's outlook on growing up in hollywood and how people who want fame see hollywood as this whole glamorous place where everyone is a big star and lives in luxury. And he's basically saying that it isn't, it's basically a sham and not everyone makes it, and the people that don't stay there and whore themselves out to the stars, e.T.C
i also read somewhere that it has similar themes to the novel 'catcher in the rye', which is all about someone growing up and leaving home only to be taken advantage of, which sort of parallels the message of the song, I think anyway.

I just read the book "Catcher in the Rye" not too long ago for school and I thought that they actually sounded quite a bit alike. The main character in "Catcher in the Rye" is always calling people phoney, especially actors. Hence the lines "phoney people come to pray/look at all of them beg to stay". Its talking about how people go to hollywood and get screwed over by people that pretend to care for them but in reality just want them for money, yet they still beg to stay.

So here I go again eating another Hollywood at the same Taco joint I say I go to to test my faith, a rubbery chicken that the sweetened tea helps wipe down, not through actions thus we may boast, but through faith, yet we must take action to be saved, Rom.10:9 and the road we take to get to those eager to hear the word starving for something to sustain them, young immature drug addicts sucking on a 'cigarette butt' or even just the filter since that has some remnant in it and is all that is left in the ashtrays of those walking by into the buildings that we 'hold up' with our lost riches or perhaps what feels like our lost souls betrayed and they still betray us yet we allow to sustain us because we have pride, I helped them get that limo, that gucci bag, that tuck, the author is speaking to the 'homeless' that arrived with hope to be saved and were left selling themselves and to the 'rich' saying that bum I have to pay taxes for or smell or walk around on the sidewalks and the destruction or what appears to be a loss of hope or the general feeling of being lost because it can be difficult to distinguish those with faith in their heart from the 'phony' that 'pretend' to pray when all they really want is the nourishment, the food or the flesh to sustain them one more 'meal' or until their hunger or need for a fix returns, and how one feels for them and wants for something to sustain them saying and rallying for them to forget about it, remember way back I know you can, you are the best, were and still are and will always be in my eyes to your 'mother' and 'father', the ones that truly care about you and to God who sees all if you can believe in me 'a stranger' standing before you as a brother, says that the wall surrounding the city, town, world, or mode of thinking you have chosen to enter or were directed depending on your stance allows one to see as if ten feet tall above the rest and you, trying to say to a friend that went and did not come home, please I know you are alive, how not seeing you or hearing from you because I have faith in you that you will not leave me not forget about me you promised before you 'left', I wait for you, I wait here for you no matter how long and sometimes I look or sound like I have crumbled but I come back still and look for you, the city can drive you crazy and me also and I have to do what I need to to remember that and to keep from allowing that to happen and yet my desire to help sometimes brings me to my knees, take your own advice, rain on a sunny day shows us the way, put your hand there and say an oath, and I will be there for you if you speak my name with open hand reached forward, remember my name yes I remember your names

This is the song about Daronīs home he grew up in Hollywood and he knew why wrote about it , Daron was disappointed about Hollywood and fucking people there "phony people come to pray" ...

yeah i'd say this is all about hollywood tricking you into signing contracts and things, and making way too much money. Like, about it not being about the music and the emotion behind it, just about making money.

This song is about nobody in particular, and is not about Hollywood in particular. It's about how the showbiz manipulates people into something awful. If you look at famous people, you can see it clearly: awesome people and personalities, but they grow frustrated, often get addicted to all kinds of drugs, and they totally alienate from their audience. (Think: The Dead Kennedys, Roger Waters,...) It's also about how people exploit talented people. They say you're the best they've ever seen, give you a seemingly great deal and especially a lot of confidence, but run away with all the profit. (Think: John Fogerty)
