Thinking if it's three
Then I'm as smooth as the skin

No, you're wrong. The song in response to Seventy Times Seven's is "Theres No "I" in Team."

First of all, John Nolan wrote the lyrics to that song. The story goes that Jesse's girlfriend cheated on him with John Nolan.

This would be a different anonymous, but I'm afraid the above two are wrong, anonymous is right to some extent.

Taken from wikipedia.org:

"The song ["There's No 'I' in Team"] is a response to the Brand New song "Seventy Times Seven" Your Favorite Weapon. Many think that "Seventy Times Seven" was the response, but it in fact was the first song of the two to be written and released. The songs were written about the time that John Nolan (ex-TBS) slept with his best friend Jesse Lacey's girlfriend. An all out fight ensued, and the two didn't speak for years. The two eventually made up, and the songs expressing their sides of the story were put on their respective albums. Brand New has been known to change the lyrics of "Seventy..." to the TBS version from time to time, and John Nolan has appeared with Brand New to sing the song as a duet with Jesse. Jesse has also appeared with TBS to sing "There's No 'I' in Team", but has not since John Nolan left TBS to form Straylight Run."

Get your facts straight, will you?

I don't get how anyone could think that "there's no I in team" came first. listen to them once each and you realize that the whole rant thing at the end is the main part of "seventy times seven", but is only screamed in the background in "there's no I in team"

I like "There's No 'I' In Team". It breaks away from a lot of the usual lyrical make up. It's refreshing and gritty. Yeah and that one anonymous dude is right. "There's No 'I' In Team" was written in response to "Seventy Times Seven".

Honestly I think this song is about him getting drunk and fucking his ex girl friend, he says rolls across the small of your back he's talking to a girl when he's singing this song so how you people think it has anything to do with there's no I in team is beyond me because if you read the lyrics carefuly he's directing the song to a girl
